Upcoming PS5 Game is Basically a Brand-New Version of Bully

After years of Bully fans keeping their fingers crossed for an official sequel, indie developer Refugium Games is hoping to answer the call with its open world school life simulator, Agefield High: Rock the School. Originally slated to release exclusively for PC via Steam, Agefield High: Rock the School has now confirmed that it will be coming to consoles via PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, giving players across a variety of platforms the opportunity to dive into this Bully spiritual successor and see how it measures up against a beloved classic.

Despite being an indie title and facing understandable skepticism, Agefield High: Rock the School has continued to draw the attention of fans who have long lamented the lack of a Bully sequel. When that game’s original creator, Dan Houser, explained why Bully 2 never happened, audiences’ hopes of a belated follow-up were heavily dashed, leaving many to turn their attention to what some may see as the next best thing in Agefield High: Rock the School.

Agefield High: Rock the School Release for PC and Consoles

  • PC: Summer 2026
  • PS5, Xbox Series X|S: TBA

Refugium Games’ latest gameplay trailer for Agefield High: Rock the School has confirmed a Summer 2026 PC release window, while the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game will be coming at a later date. As expected, the gameplay in Agefield High: Rock the School is an arguably close 1-to-1 with Bully, including being able to take math, geography, music, and language classes or skipping school entirely to ride around on a bicycle and complete small side tasks. Players will be able to customize their character with various outfits, hairstyles, accessories, and tattoos, and they will be able to decide if they want to focus on their school work on campus or explore the small town open world’s neighborhoods, town center, and countryside.

Drama and conflict will also play key roles in the story of Agefield High: Rock the School, as main character Sam will need to decide what type of person he wants to be while preparing for graduation. Sam will face off against bullies, parents, neighbors, and teachers in equal measure, while trying to find a suitable balance between friendship, growth, love, and rebellion. Agefield High: Rock the School may not have the highest fidelity graphics or most ground-breaking gameplay on offer, but it does seek to follow rather closely in the footsteps of Bully, for better or worse.

Considering the seemingly slim chances of Rockstar Games making a Bully sequel, it should come as no surprise that Bully fans are hoping Agefield High: Rock the School can at least scratch a nostalgic itch, if not fully satisfy the desire for anything in the same vein as the iconic game that first introduced many players to delinquent school life. Only time will tell if Agefield High: Rock the School can live up to the early hype that has been building, so interested players may want to stay tuned for any updates on an exact Steam release date for Agefield High, as well as any news on potential launch windows for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
