Why Some GTA 6 Fans Think News is Coming Soon

Grand Theft Auto 6 and rumors basically go together like peanut butter and jelly at this point. For over two years now, eager gamers have been scouring trailers, Rockstar tweets, and even GTA Online for any signs about when the next update will be. One of the biggest stories of 2025 was when Rockstar announced the news that many were dreading: Grand Theft Auto 6 was delayed again. Last year wasn’t all bad news for GTA 6, though. Rockstar unveiled the second trailer, and fans have been hungry for a third ever since.

Both GTA 6 trailers are bold, eye-catching cinematic montages that make it hard not to be pumped for the game. GTA 6‘s protagonists, Jason and Lucia, already seem to have awesome chemistry, Vice City and the greater state of Leonida look incredibly fun, and it could potentially be Rockstar’s most visually impressive game yet. Fans are hoping to see actual gameplay soon, though. A third trailer could shed light on GTA 6‘s greater details, but that remains to be seen. When Rockstar plans on releasing a new trailer is a huge mystery, but some fans think they’ve found the next time frame for another reveal: February 2026.

The number one reason is that Take-Two Interactive’s next quarterly earnings call happens on February 3. Not every earnings call ends up announcing important news, but sometimes there can be real surprises. For example, Take-Two Interactive’s Q3 earnings call happened on November 6, 2025, and that’s the date that marked the second GTA 6 delay announcement. That isn’t the only time Rockstar has used earnings calls as springboards for GTA 6 updates, though.

Why is February So Important for Grand Theft Auto 6?

Some Things That Have Been Revealed in Past Take-Two Interactive Meetings

  • The original fall 2025 release window
  • Delaying the game to May 2026
  • Delaying the game again until November 2026

Of course, it’s important to mention that not every earnings call brings forth some kind of new revelation. More often than not, these quarterly calls just reconfirm old information. Even if a trailer doesn’t arrive, getting reassurance that GTA 6‘s release date is still on track for November would be better than nothing. That hasn’t stopped some from convincing themselves that February’s Q3 meeting is more than just a run-of-the-mill call, though. Strangely enough, it’s all because of the day of the week the earnings call falls on.

February 3 Falls on a Tuesday, and That Might Actually Mean Something Big

The first trailer for GTA 6 was supposed to be released on December 5, 2023, which was a Tuesday. Rockstar had to release it a day early because it was leaked. The second trailer launched on May 6, 2025, also a Tuesday. February 3 is also a Tuesday, meaning the marketing team may have designated it as a release-of-new-material day.

This could very well be reaching, but it may still turn out to be breadcrumbs being left by Rockstar. A new GTA 6 trailer would be huge after last year’s delay.

Mysterious Updates to Rockstar’s YouTube Playlists Have Raised Eyebrows

Earlier this month, fans noticed changes to Rockstar’s trailer playlist on YouTube. It happened again this week, which has further fanned theories about the elusive Trailer 3. With the first GTA 6 trailer now being two years old, it’s wild that the wait for trailers has caused such a frenzy. Analysts are predicting GTA 6‘s sales are going to mark a new era for the industry, so with that context, it all makes sense.

GTA 6‘s Trailer 2 revealed character names and map areas. These areas include Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Ambrosia, Port Gellhorn, and Mount Kalaga.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Fans Will Want to Keep Their Expectations in Check

Yes, the upcoming earnings call and Rockstar’s YouTube activity are intriguing. However, a whole lot of theories have been proposed over the years that have turned out to be nothing. It would make sense for Rockstar to release another trailer after the earnings call, but the developer also likes to surprise. There’s also a real possibility that the earnings call could reveal something other than a trailer. Questions about GTA 6‘s price are still unanswered. It could even address the rumors that GTA 6 is delaying physical releases to avoid leaks.

GTA 6 is a game that’s on nearly every gamer’s mind, but patience is key. The only certain thing is that GTA 6‘s launch is going to be a big talking point, not only in the gaming world, but in wider culture as a whole. If Take-Two Interactive’s February earnings call paves the way for a trailer soon after, then that’s great. If it doesn’t, then no news is better than more bad news. If anything, the most substantial earnings call might actually be in May. This would mark about five to six months before GTA 6‘s launch, so if there are any updates—good or bad— that Take-Two Interactive or Rockstar want to share, that would be the ideal time. Until then, a third GTA 6 trailer remains one of the biggest mysteries in the industry.
