Blizzard surprised World of Warcraft fans and revealed that the viral sensation Jimothy the raccoon would be added to the game as a companion pet in a future content update. The news came as World of Warcraft prepared to launch Patch 12.1, dubbed Curse of Ula’tek.
Jimothy the Raccoon is Officially Coming to World of Warcraft
Although World of Warcraft is home to many collectible critters that players can get through various means, Blizzard shared a look at one of its more unique critter designs yet. The World of Warcraft development team shared a brief video of Jimothy in Blizzard’s art style. True to his real-life counterpart, the Jimothy companion pet has a short spine, a stubbed tail, and elongated legs. However, Blizzard did not reveal when exactly Jimothy would be added to World of Warcraft, so fans must wait for more information. While World of Warcraft has put companion pets on the Blizzard Store for real money, that will not be the case for Jimothy. Blizzard confirmed via the World of Warcraft subreddit that Jimothy would be available in-game, but did not elaborate further.
