Xbox Game Pass Subscribers Have to Say Goodbye to 9 Games on April 30

Xbox Game Pass Subscribers Have to Say Goodbye to 9 Games on April 30

The month of April is quickly drawing to a close, and for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, that means time is running out to play nine games that will soon leave the service. Part of the appeal of Xbox Game Pass is that it allows subscribers to try games that they might not have otherwise. However, as new games are added, older titles are frequently removed.

On April 23, Kiln from developer Double Fine will arrive on PC and consoles, with a day-one release on the service. Just seven days later, Xbox Game Pass Subscribers can look forward to three other games: Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, Sledding Game, and TerraTech Legion. All three of those games will be playable on PC, but Heroes of Might and Magic will not be available on consoles.

Rumor: New Version of Xbox Game Pass Leaked

An Xbox Game Pass tier that focuses exclusively on Microsoft-owned games seems to have leaked ahead of an official announcement.

Every Game Leaving Xbox Game Pass on April 30

  • Citizen Sleeper (Console, PC, Cloud)
  • Creatures of Ava (Console, PC, Cloud)
  • Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (Console, PC, Cloud)
  • Endless Legend 2 (PC)
  • Goat Simulator (Console, Cloud)
  • Goat Simulator: Remastered (Console, PC, Cloud)
  • Hunt: Showdown 1896 (Console, PC, Cloud)
  • NHL 24 (Console)
  • Revenge of the Savage Planet (Console, PC, Cloud)

Xbox Game Pass subscribers are losing access to nine games on April 30, and that will likely be a disappointment to some people. However, users lamenting the loss of NHL 24 shouldn’t be too sad, as NHL 26 was recently added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Fans have frequently complained that EA’s yearly hockey games are too similar, so anyone still playing the game released two years ago shouldn’t have a problem getting acclimated to NHL 26. Of course, the next game in the series should be released later this year.

The advance notice should give players a chance to rush through some of these games. It will also give them a chance to decide if they want to make a purchase. The Microsoft Store does offer discounts on titles leaving Xbox Game Pass, and any save data will remain intact. That means players can keep going as if the game hadn’t been removed.

The month of May is already shaping up to be a big one for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Forza Horizon 6 will release on May 19 on Xbox Series X/S, and later this year on PS5. As with all first-party games, it will be a day-one arrival on the Game Pass Ultimate tier. There’s been a lot of speculation about whether Xbox will continue doing that in the future, but Forza Horizon 6 has already been confirmed. The previous game was a critical and commercial success for Xbox and developer Playground Games, and there’s a lot of anticipation surrounding the next entry in the series.

Earlier this year, Asha Sharma replaced Phil Spencer as the head of Xbox. The leadership shift could lead to major changes at the company. A leaked memo hinted that Xbox Game Pass could see a price drop or a cheaper tier. For years, there has been debate about the costs associated with the service and just how it can be profitable given the necessary investments. For now though, things seem to be continuing as normal, with the typical release patterns and additions subscribers have come to expect each month.
