33 New Games Confirmed for the Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo’s June 9 Direct gave Switch 2 owners a lot more to look forward to, with 33 games officially confirmed for the console during the showcase. The lineup included a mix of brand-new games, Switch 2 Editions, major third-party ports, remakes, remasters, and expanded versions of games that are now making their way to Nintendo’s newest hardware.

Some of the biggest announcements included Kingdom Hearts 4, Xenoblade Genesis, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, Final Fantasy Resonance, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Nintendo also confirmed Switch 2 Editions for Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3, giving Monolith Soft’s RPG series a much bigger presence on the platform.

First Look at the New Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake on Switch 2

During the latest Direct, Nintendo gives fans their first official look at the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, coming to Switch 2.

Every New Switch 2 Game Confirmed During The June 9 Nintendo Direct

June’s first Nintendo Direct was filled with plenty of notable game announcements, but the full list is still worth a deeper look. Some games are completely new entries, while others are long-requested ports or upgraded versions of games that already exist elsewhere. For Switch 2, though, the end result is that the console’s library is getting much larger.

  • Xenoblade Chronicles 3
  • Xenoblade Genesis

The biggest takeaway from the full list is how varied the Switch 2 lineup is already becoming. Nintendo showed expected first-party names, but the third-party support is doing a lot of work here too. Games like Stellar Blade, Lies of P, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, and Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen give Switch 2 the kind of heavier releases Nintendo systems haven’t always received right away.

There are also plenty of games announced that help fill out the console in different directions. Fitness Boxing 3 and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort give Switch 2 more casual and family-friendly options, while DayZ, SnowRunner, RuneScape: Dragonwilds, and Minecraft give the system more long-term multiplayer and sandbox games. Even without breaking down every title individually, Nintendo is clearly trying to avoid making Switch 2 feel like it is being carried by only a handful of major releases.

Of course, not every one of these games is brand-new in the same way. Some are new entries, some are remasters or remakes, some are upgraded editions, and some are ports of games that have already launched elsewhere. Still, for anyone looking at the Switch 2 library after the June 9 Direct, the important part is that Nintendo’s newest console now has 33 more games attached to it, and that gives Switch 2 a much stronger roadmap than it had before the presentation.
