Hello Kitty fans seeking something new after putting hundreds of hours into questing and home decorating on Island Adventure are in luck, as a new video game is coming this year. However, it’s very different from the cozy RPG that many may be used to, as the new Hello Kitty game is Sanrio’s take on Mario Party.
Obviously, this will be a major departure from the most popular Hello Kitty game in the franchise, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be less fun. Mario Party has thrived for years because of its enjoyable mini-games, a colorful cast of characters, and a charming board game presentation, all features that Hello Kitty Party Land shares. If one were to imagine a Mario Party game, only with Cinnamoroll and Pompompurin in place of the Mario Brothers and mini-games involving Gudetama instead of Bullet Bill, then they’d have a clear picture of what this release has to offer.
33 New Games Confirmed for the Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendo’s latest Direct added 33 more games to the Switch 2 lineup, ranging from major third-party ports to brand-new exclusives.
Hello Kitty Party Land Keeps The Sanrio Momentum Going
Per Hello Kitty Party Land’s trailer, Bandai Namco has confirmed that there will be over 45 mini-games available to enjoy. While that’s less than half of the 112 mini-games in the colossal Super Mario Party Jamboree, it’s still a healthy amount of variety. Like Island Adventure, players will be able to create an avatar that plays games with the colorful cast of Sanrio critters, only this time, the avatar is human instead of also being an animal. If players pre-order, they’ll score some extra outfit options for their avatar, with the day 1 edition containing a sticker pack and coloring book. And, in the board-game portion, it looks like players will team their customized avatar up with their Sanrio icon of choice, ensuring the actual characters still have a role to play outside the mini-games that focus on them.

While a late October release for Hello Kitty Party Land may be too close to the upcoming GTA 6 for many developers’ liking, it seems like there’s enough confidence in the Sanrio brand and the difference in audiences to drop it in such close proximity to the most anticipated game release of all time. While GTA 6 online is rumored to be an “everything game” like Roblox and Fortnite, allowing creators to design endless experiences, it could be a while before there’s anything resembling the mechanics of Hello Kitty Party Land. And though this release is certainly exciting, it’s not all there is to look forward to, as it was recently reported that there’s a Hello Kitty LEGO set on the way.
Though there have been Hello Kitty building sets in the past that resemble LEGOs, such as Jazwares’ BLDR brand, a proper LEGO collab will undoubtedly be exciting for Sanrio lovers around the world. There are currently no details on what the set will include — it may only contain Hello Kitty herself, or there could be other minifigures featuring the adorable penguin Tuxedo Sam, My Melody, and so on. Like the Jazwares sets, themed buildings based on certain characters are also a possibility. Regardless of what this mysterious crossover contains, fans can look forward to the Hello Kitty LEGO set releasing in January 2027.
