Resident Evil Requiem looks set to end the month on a high note, and if you’re looking to dig into the new mainline chapter’s gory lore, now might be a good time to log off. Reports are coming in that physical editions of the new survival-horror game have made their way into the hands of players ahead of its planned February 27 release date. If history has proven anything, it’s only a matter of time before footage is uploaded to various channels.
“I can personally verify there is at least one person out there who bought Resident Evil Requiem from a store selling early,” reliable Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem posted online. “If one person has been able to get it early, then some others will too, so officially, floodgates are open but it may take a couple days before anything starts leaking.”
With Resident Evil celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and fan theories doing the rounds about how this instalment could have some big twists, now is probably a good time to start curating your social media feeds or take a sabbatical from them if you’re looking to go into the game without it being spoiled for you.
There are several browser extensions you can look at to help you mute certain keywords and block content, and avoiding comment sections is always advised, but nothing beats a social media detox for a foolproof method.
Resident Evil Requiem launches for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 later this month, and for some spoiler-free content, you can check out GameSpot’s features on how Leon Kennedy was gracefully aged for the game, how its foundations were inspired by classic Resident Evil games, and read up on how Resident Evil Requiem might be the goriest entry in the series yet.
