PC Users Can Claim Open-World Pirate Game for Free, But They Need to Act Fast

PC users can grab a Steam key for the open-world naval game Tempest: Pirate Action RPG for free on Fanatical if they act quickly, with the offer ending February 20. While Steam and the Epic Games Store usually dominate PC game giveaways, other popular storefronts like Fanatical also offer enticing full-price discounts, such as this deal that lets players claim Tempest: Pirate Action RPG completely for free.

Many consider Tempest: Pirate Action RPG one of the top open-world games featuring ship combat, standing alongside well-known titles like Sid Meier’s Pirates and Sea of Thieves. What sets Tempest apart is its blend of mythical pirate lore with a realistic sailing experience, creating a unique mix that fans of sea adventures are likely to enjoy.

PC Gamers Have Until February 23 to Play Popular Sci-Fi Game for Free

PC Gamers can try out a popular science fiction video game completely free of charge, but they only have until February 23 to do so.

PC users with a giveaway-eligible Fanatical account can claim Tempest: Pirate Action RPG for free until February 20 and keep it forever. Originally released in 2016 by indie developer HeroCraft, the game has received Mostly Positive reviews on Steam from over 1,700 users. Its usual retail price is around $15 USD, with several paid DLCs adding extra content. In Tempest: Pirate Action RPG, players become pirate ship captains, sailing through an open world filled with dangers, from rival pirates to epic monsters that attack on sight.

Like many classic pirate games, Tempest: Pirate Action RPG lets players customize their ships, adjusting nearly every detail. The game also offers a dynamic universe, letting players roam freely almost from the start. According to the developer, the map includes three regions and dozens of islands that players can explore at their own pace. Tempest has multiplayer features, too, including co-op missions and PvP combat, but it was originally designed for single-player, where it performs best.

Tempest: Pirate Action RPG Features at a Glance

  • Single-player mode: Explore the world and complete missions as a notorious pirate
  • Multiplayer: Team up with friends, trade with other pirates, or engage in PvP combat
  • Open world: Sail across a vast sea with multiple regions and islands
  • Ship customization: Modify every part of your ship, from flag colors to hull details
  • Epic monsters: Face legendary creatures from pirate lore, including the Kraken and Leviathan
  • Expanding the crew: Hire and level up bandits to strengthen your ship and tackle tougher enemies
  • Changing weather conditions: Dynamic climates significantly impact gameplay

PC users should note that claiming Tempest: Pirate Action RPG on Fanatical requires an eligible account. The linked Steam account must have at least one completed purchase worth $5 USD or more. Other Free PC Games Right Now

After the current weekly Epic Games Store giveaway ends, players can claim two more free titles starting February 19. The first is Return to Ash, a black-and-white, story-driven adventure about the afterlife. The second is STALCRAFT: X Starter Edition, a first-person, open-world shooter with RPG elements.

As of this writing, Steam users don’t have any free full games to claim. However, they can get a free DLC for Halcyon Days at Taoyuan. Released in January 2026, Halcyon Days at Taoyuan is a Stardew Valley–style game that has received very positive reviews on Steam.
