PC Gamers Have 4 Games They Can Claim Right Now Completely Free of Charge

PC Gamers Have 4 Games They Can Claim Right Now Completely Free of Charge

PC gamers have four freebies that they can add to their digital libraries right now, but time is running out to claim them. Whereas most “free” games on consoles actually require subscriptions, many of the free games on PC are genuinely completely free of charge. These freebies are given out across a variety of digital storefronts, with both Steam and the Epic Games Store giving away free games on a regular basis.

Both Steam and the Epic Games Store are known for their free game giveaways, but how they give away their free games is very different. On Steam, it’s not platform owner Valve giving away the free games. Instead, free Steam games are given away by developers and publishers, oftentimes to promote a new game or a sale or something along those lines. Because of this, free Steam games are unpredictable. The Epic Games Store free games, meanwhile, are given away by Epic Games and are made available every Thursday at 10:00am CST. This way, Epic Games Store users know exactly when they can pop back on and claim the latest freebies.

New Swat Simulator on Steam is Essentially the Ready Or Not-Version of Cyberpunk 2077’s MaxTac

In a dystopian world ruled by AI, this new Swat Sim on Steam lets you fight back like you’re part of Cyberpunk 2077’s MaxTac.

Right now, there are four free games available across Steam and the Epic Games Store. Steam users can claim Paragnosia for free until February 23 at 2:00am CST, so it’s the free game that’s expiring the quickest. Steam users can also snag BROTHER!!! Save Him! for free, and it will be up for grabs until February 24 at 12:00pm CST. On the Epic Games Store side of things, PC gamers can claim both Return to Ash and STALCRAFT X: Starter Edition until February 26 at 10:00am CST.

For those that may be unfamiliar with the latest free PC games, Paragnosia is a horror game that seems like a mix between Five Nights at Freddy’s and Phasmophobia. In Paragnosia, players operate a rail camera in their apartment in search of paranormal entities. Failure to find and exorcise the entities will result in a game over. It earned “Very Positive” reviews from Steam users, and should be a solid pick for horror game fans on the platform.

BROTHER!!! Save Him! is a different beast entirely. An extremely hardcore platformer, BROTHER!!! Save Him! was first added to Steam in 2020 and hasn’t garnered many reviews, but should appeal to fans of ultra-tough gaming experiences.

Free Epic Games Store Games Available Right Now

    • Desperol — 15 units

On the Epic Games Store side of things, there is Return to Ash, which is a narrative-driven visual novel about waking up in the afterlife. It’s a short but sweet experience that earned strong scores from critics. STALCRAFT X is an MMO/FPS/RPG hybrid that is technically free-to-play already, but Epic Games Store users can get the Starter Edition for free. This includes a slew of content, including weapons, artifacts, cosmetics, consumables, and more. Normally, the Starter Edition retails for $24.99, so getting it completely free of charge is quite a steal.

Once Return to Ash and STALCRAFT X are cycled out of the Epic Games Store free games window on February 26, they will be replaced by Boxes: Lost Fragments and My Night Job. Both Boxes: Lost Fragments and My Night Job will be free until March 5, though it’s unclear what exactly they will be replaced with at the time of this writing.
