Pokemon GO is hosting an Anniversary All Out event to celebrate the Pokemon franchise’s 30th anniversary, with a Kalos Tour event also occurring this weekend. Details were revealed during the Pokemon Day broadcast on February 27, 2026. Pokemon GO is honoring the anniversary in style, with two super-sized events as well as an exclusive code revealed during the broadcast itself.
As of 2026, Pokemon GO has introduced over 800 of the 1025 Pokemon currently released. It hosts regular events such as “Tours” which focus on a specific region, Raid events that typically feature Legendary, Mythical, or otherwise rare Pokemon, seasonal celebrations such as Lunar New Year, Community Day events, and more. Of course, the popular mobile game’s celebration of the 30th anniversary pulls out all the stops. Additionally, the 30th anniversary of Pokemon coincides with the tenth anniversary of Pokemon GO itself, so the celebration is even more exciting.
You’re Going to Have to Wait Longer Than Expected for the Gen 10 Pokemon Games
Game Freak has finally pulled back the curtain on Pokemon Winds and Waves, the official Gen 10 games, but it’s further away than expected.
Pokemon GO Will Hold Multiple Anniversary Events
- Pokemon GO Anniversary All Out: March 7-9, 2026
- Pokemon GO Kalos Tour: February 28-March 1, 2026
- Event code GOTOURKALOS
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise, Pokemon GO will feature an event called the “30th Anniversary All Out” from Saturday March 7, to Monday, March 9, 2026. The event will feature the return of a wide variety of Pokemon that have previously debuted in Pokemon GO over the years. According to the official Pokemon GO Web site, “almost all” Pokemon will be appearing in the wild — with a few exceptions such as Smeargle, Kecleon, and other Pokemon with specific appearance conditions in GO.
The event will also feature a variety of raids where players can battle and catch Pikachu variants wearing hats inspired by protagonists throughout the series. Gen 1 Legendary Pokemon such as Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres are also appearing in raids, while the Ultra Beasts from Pokemon Sun and Moon will appear in region-dependent raids.

In addition, the Pokemon GO Tour – Kalos event will occur globally on Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 1. Players will be able to encounter and battle Pokemon first appearing in the X and Y games, including the Legendary Pokemon Xerneas and Yveltal. Players can use the promotional code GOTOURKALOS, valid until Monday, March 2, to encounter Fennekin, Froakie, or Chespin, depending on their choice.
Pokemon GO’s anniversary events are the perfect time for players to fill out their Pokedex and catch some Pokemon that they might have otherwise missed. The wide variety of hat-wearing Pikachu are also an adorable celebration of the series’ history. With many more Pokemon titles in the future, such as Pokopia in March and Winds and Waves in 2027, it seems certain that more Pokemon GO events are also upcoming.
