On March 2, French video game publisher Nacon announced that it would be delaying its Nacon Connect event. The upcoming event was scheduled for March 4, 2026, and would have showcased the publisher’s games, including GreedFall 2: The Dying World. Nacon was likely to announce its plans for the year ahead at the event as well.
This isn’t the first time Nacon has been in the news recently. The company made headlines on February 25 when it filed for insolvency. Insolvency, while not bankruptcy, is still a financial state in which a business cannot pay its debts. The move was a result of its majority shareholder, Bigben Interactive, being unable to make partial bond loan payments. The filing was made before a commercial court, which is expected to rule on the insolvency filing in early March ahead of GreedFall 2: The Dying World‘s release date.

Nacon Connect Has Been Put On Hold Due to the Company’s Financial Troubles
Nacon Connect was originally scheduled for March 4. The event would have been streamed live on YouTube and Twitch, but Nacon has now confirmed that it will be postponing the annual event. The online-only showcase is now expected to take place sometime in May, though the company did not provide an exact date. The delay is a direct result of the French publisher’s recent financial woes, with the company explaining that it’s taking the time to polish its upcoming games. The company also said to expect “numerous communications” regarding GreedFall 2: The Dying World and Dragonkin: The Banished, plus its other titles, in the meantime.
“Faced with a difficult economic environment for the company, we are choosing to focus our resources on upcoming releases and the development of our current games. This period will allow us to polish our projects and prepare for a new NACON Connect to be held in May, which will showcase the work of our studios in the best possible way,” the company said in a press release.
Nacon’s digital showcase was expected to provide a deeper look into the company’s games, including two upcoming Lovecraftian titles, Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss and The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu. The publisher was also expected to highlight Edge of Memories, a follow-up to 2021’s mostly positively received Edge of Eternity. It’s also highly likely that players would’ve gotten a better look at GreedFall 2: The Dying World, which is slated for full release on March 12. The title is currently in early access, and as Nacon’s largest franchise next to the surprise hit Hell is Us, the showcase probably would have shown off some of the game’s improvements included with its 1.0 release. The event’s announcement trailer also featured Styx: Blades of Greed, Dragonkin: The Banished, and Nacon’s racing simulation game, Rennsport.
It’s always unfortunate to see a video game company land in a tough financial situation, particularly when it could mean trouble for its employees and various projects. In February, there was a layoff at a video game studio nearly every week, including layoffs at developer and publisher Ubisoft’s Toronto studio, which was responsible for major titles including Far Cry 6 and Watch Dogs: Legion. That said, should Nacon’s request for insolvency be approved by the courts, it would allow the company to maintain jobs while it renegotiates with creditors. If the courts deny Nacon’s insolvency filing, it could lead to the company filing for bankruptcy, which in turn could result in serious job cuts following restructuring.
However, it could be seen as somewhat good news that the company didn’t outright cancel its Nacon Connect showcase. Instead, it merely pushed it out two months to May. By then, the courts should have had a chance to rule on the company’s filing, and Nacon could be in a better financial spot following the full 1.0 release of GreedFall 2: The Dying World. The company also indicated that it would be communicating about its planned games during that time, so there will likely be more news in the coming weeks.
