Another image said to depict a handful of Persona 6 cast members has surfaced online in late May 2026, marking the game’s third high-profile leak in just a few days. While the asset itself does not reveal much directly, it serves as an unexpected callback to an old fan theory about the setting of Persona 6.
The recently spotted image comes from the same Chinese leaker who recently shared several pieces of alleged Persona 6 concept art and asset filenames that may reveal the names of some of the game’s main characters. While the image technically predates that batch, it was only spotted after the multi-file leak began circulating on Western social media.
Persona 6 and Persona 4 Revival Get Exciting Updates from Reliable Leaker
A well-known leaker shares exciting updates on Persona 6 and the Persona 4 remake, dismissing some recent fan concerns about the former.
Four Alleged Persona 6 Characters Leak Online, Surrounded by Familiar-Looking Scenery
The leaked image shows a rough composite of four censored character assets, each shown from the front and back, placed over an anime-style school or campus background, rather than a finished in-game scene. The lineup is arranged along a road outside what appears to be a large academy building. A gated entrance, brick walls, trees, steps, and a central tower are visible in the distance under a bright blue sky. The characters do not appear to be fully integrated into the background, suggesting the leaker assembled the assets manually for presentation. That possibility seems especially likely considering the recent Persona 6 “Sam” Confidant leak, which comes from the same source, used an identical background.
The faces of all four figures are obscured, making their identities and facial features impossible to verify. Most appear to have dark hair, though at least one figure near the left side seems to have light or blond hair, aligning with earlier unverified claims that Persona 6 may feature a fair-haired protagonist. The figures also appear to share a common outfit motif: black clothing with vivid red, green, and blue paint markings. Each character thus looks as if they just had a messy painting session. In addition to the full-body lineup, the image includes three separate head sketches near the upper-left portion of the background. These appear to show different angles of the same dark-haired character’s head, possibly front, rear, and side views, though the censorship makes that difficult to confirm.
How the New Persona 6 Leak Ties Into an Old Fan Theory
Atlus May Have Teased the Game’s Setting Years Ago
The new leak could lend support to an old fan theory based on artwork Atlus shared for the Persona 25th Anniversary Festival in early 2022. Created by series veteran Shigenori Soejima, the illustration features the protagonists of every mainline Persona game, including P3 Portable, standing in front of a graffiti-covered wall. At the time, much of the fan attention focused on the green bucket of paint visible in the bottom-left corner of the image, which became the most commonly cited evidence for theories that green would be the official theme color of Persona 6. However, some fans also pointed to the broader image, particularly the fact that all of the protagonists are covered in paint, as a possible subtle hint that the next game would take place in an art school. Although that theory was largely dismissed as baseless at the time, the continuity in paint-splattered imagery between the 2022 artwork and the 2026 leak raises renewed questions about the merits of the original idea.

An alternative explanation for the paint-splatter motif is that painting could serve as the game’s framing device, similar to how heists were used in Persona 5. It is currently unclear when Atlus may finally confirm or dismiss the speculation by revealing its much-anticipated sequel. It might seem intuitive to assume Persona 4 Revival, currently rumored for a February 2027 launch, will arrive before the next mainline installment is announced. However, recent industry chatter also points to the possibility of Atlus and Sega revealing Persona 6 during the June 2026 Xbox Games Showcase.
