Battlefield 6 Reveals What’s Next With New Content Roadmap

Battlefield 6 Reveals What’s Next With New Content Roadmap

After the launch of Season 4, EA released a new content roadmap showcasing what’s planned for Battlefield 6 both in terms of upcoming content and features in season 5 and beyond. Following an uneven end to 2025, Battlefield 6 has continued to build momentum with its players thanks to solid seasonal updates and continued patches to fix and improve the overall experience.

The positive momentum has continued in Season 4, which adds a major focus to naval warfare in Battlefield 6. As part of the latest seasonal content, Battlefield 6 added Tsuru Reef, the biggest map that Battlefield Studios have released for the game yet. The map itself is a massive chain of islands, featuring plenty of water to traverse with boats and jetskis, as well as buildings to fight through and tropical vegetation. The update also brought new weapons to the game as well, including the EF88 Assault Rifle, BROD 3 Carbine, and VSSM DMR, with plenty more planned over the upcoming phases of Season 4. For those interested in a longer term picture, EA has released a new feature roadmap.

Battlefield 6 Adds New Layer of Anti-Cheat Security

In an effort to continue fighting against cheaters, Battlefield 6 introduces another new measure as part of its Season 3 anti-cheating update.

What’s Next for Battlefield 6

In a new post to the community, the official Battlefield Comms account revealed the plans for Battlefield 6 beyond its current season. As expected, Battlefield 6 Season 4 will continue through new Phases in August and September, though in addition to new content, EA is planning to launch highly requested features as well. In August for Phase 2, Battlefield 6 is preparing to officially launch Custom Lobbies and Spectator Mode with initial support for Battle Royale Quads and Conquest. The plan is to continue building out support for more modes in the future.

In September, Phase 3: Tidal Strike begins for Battlefield 6 and alongside the new content will be the addition of Proximity Chat. The highly requested feature isn’t new for online titles by any means, but the popular mechanic has gained plenty of steam as of late thanks to games like ARC Raiders, which have put the feature to good use with how players interact with one another. In terms of Battlefield 6, EA is planning a phased rollout starting on September 15 in Battlefield Labs for Battle Royale only. Based on feedback and how things go in general, the plan is then to bring it to Multiplayer at a later date.

The post also touched on plans for Season 5, though understandably, details were a bit light. Players can expect three new maps in Season 5, along with reworks for existing Battlefield 6 maps New Sobek City and Blackwell Fields. While the post was unwilling to reveal the location or theme for Season 5, the focus for these new maps is on infantry combat, with one sounding to be smaller in scale and the other two offering that larger-scale gameplay fans enjoy. In terms of features, Season 5 will bring back the fan favorite Server Browser, with multiplayer leaderboards and Platoons also planned for release.

Saudi Arabia Acquisition of EA Gets New Update

There’s plenty on the horizon for Battlefield 6 fans, both in terms of content and features. While the future looks bright, it is worth noting that EA seems poised to undergo a major change very soon, as the previously reported acquisition by Saudi Arabia’s PIF nears the final stages. Reports indicate the sale could be finalized as soon as August 4 and when that happens, it’s unknown what will or could change with EA’s future plans, potentially impacting its games as well. For now, fans will have to stay tuned.
