Hallowgrove is one of the best places to farm valuable resources in Mistfall Hunter, offering a balanced mix of camp materials, rare loot, elite enemies, and high-risk extraction opportunities. However, simply wandering through the map is a quick way to lose both your gear and your progress.
This guide with the optimal farming route will save you lots of time, effort, and minimize the risk of losing precious gear to griefer players waiting at the Returning Woodling Chimes. It explains all about the Hallowgrove map, both in Normal and Chaos mode. If players want to maximize their loot gains, they better come prepared, since the Hallowgrove (especially its higher difficulty level) is a merciless place where PvP is a constant, and where Elite enemies are hidden at every corner. So, let’s take a look at a detailed map overview first.
Mistfall Hunter Hallowgrove Map Guide
The Hallowgrove could be considered the “low-difficulty” map in Mistfall Hunter, although that is relative since playing in Trios on Normal Mode, or going for the map conditions on Chaos difficulty, which really pushes the pressure bar high.
Most of the POIs of Normal mode offer valuable resources and gear that will get you started and allow you to upgrade your Camp facilities, at least up to level 2/3.
Normal Mode has the following settings:
- Difficulty Level of PvE Enemies: Low
- Equipment Rarity Limit: Excellent or inferior.
- Allowed Combat Bags: Novice, Advanced, Pro.
- Revival Times: 1
Chaos Mode, on the other hand, is a little bit more hectic, and has harsher requirements:
- Difficulty Level of PvE Enemies: High
- Equipment Rarity Limit: Holy or inferior.
- Minimum Gear Value Required: 800 Gyldenblod or higher.
- Allowed Combat Bags: Advanced, Pro, Elite.
- Revival Times: 1
- Special Rules: Solos/Trios
There are 12 major spawn points in the Hallowgrove map, 4 of which are only available in Chaos Mode:
- Upper left corner of the map (Northern Dwellings).
- Midpoint between Einherjar Ship Grave and Supreme Hall (Desolate Barrow).
- Upper right corner (Gravekeeper’s Hut).
- Left midpoint (West Outpost)
- Lower-right midpoint (Divine Retribution Ruins)
- Lower-left midpoint (River mouth leading to Pioneer’s Gate)
- Lower-left (Above Wasteland Camp).
- Bottom midpoint (Refugee Camp)
- Bottom left (Chaos Mode only)
- Top-right (Dockyard – Chaos Mode only)
- Top-right, above Gravekeeper’s Hut (Chaos Mode only)
- Divine Anchor, near Heretic Pyre (Chaos Mode only)
For this farming route guide, we will use the first 8 Spawning points as reference since they are the most frequently used, and we will be moving counter-clockwise and addressing Tasks and priority POIs.
Best Hallowgrove Farming Route & Priority POIs
There are five priority POIs you should definitely visit while exploring Hallowgrove, mostly because they offer the most return on investment of time and effort, but also because looting them in a certain pattern can ensure players are safe from griefers and campers.
On the top of the map, we have the Supreme Hall (where the Elite Berserker Major Elite lies) and the Einherjar Ship Grave, with tons of access points that could be turned in your favor if you find any players lurking around.
Running out of healing items? You can crush Blue Labeled Barrels to find consumables and tactical items. Watch out for the Blood Offering though; it offers a lot of immediate healing, but it will cause a damaging debuff a few seconds later.
The mid-point is the Divine Anchor, the place where the Mist Lord Portal leading to Salmar the Cursed Moonwave appears. This area will be left for last, and for a good reason: It turns into a contested zone in the latter phase of the match.
To the left side, there are fewer Exploration Tasks (granted by Soekja, the White Raven) which are a great way to get some highly valuable loot. So, the idea is to rotate counterclockwise, always pushing in the direction of the Supreme Hall. Why? Because there are 3 different Exploration Tasks there, and there’s also a great number of Elites and Guarded Loot (Look for the Purple triangular mark over an enemy’s head), and Golden Chest Areas, which signal the place where the most valuable loot spawns.
On the side of the Einherjar Ship Grave, there’s a particularly good spot where players can farm keys (The Watchtower) that can open various chests on the map. The same area has a chest of its own, so it might be worth taking a look at it.
Inside the Grave, or more precisely, the underground part of it, players can also find Purple Mark loot, which often contains Unidentified Items. Enemies here are Hags, Elite Husks, and minor zombies. But in Chaos Mode, players can find an Elite Scarecrow, a particularly difficult enemy that can be extremely hard to deal with.
Prioritize loot of Green to Blue quality at first. Of course, yellow and purple items need to go immediately into Pip’s Safe Pouch. Discard everything else unless you need it for a particular reason.
After looting this zone, players might want to start pushing to the middle part of the map: The Divine Anchor. This place is always troublesome, since it has 7 access points, and it’s a sort of conflux of all paths, which means PvP is unavoidable.
Be sure to stop by Richie the Woodling trader on your way (it always spawns somewhere between the middle points of the map or the corners, especially the Abandoned Market and the Refugee Camp. Richie offers a selection of items and you can even sell part of your loot in exchange of Gyldenmist. It is also the easiest way to obtain Healing Items.
Now, extraction can be quite tricky, but you need to know two things: You don’t need to rush at all, since most Woodling Chimes remain there for quite a bit of time, and they can be reused. And the other thing is that players almost always extract sooner than you expect.
The process of roaming around, filling your pockets, and getting out as soon as possible will naturally push out contesting players before the first 20 minutes of the match. If you are lucky enough, there’s a chance to remain the last player on the map. The exact number of players at the same time in a match is 8, unless it’s Trios mode: in that case, it will be 12 in Normal, 15 in Chaos/Apocalypse.
Pay attention to the warnings of Soekja about the Gyldenmist coming, and to the prompt on screen: “A player is ringing a Woodling Chime.” If you manage to count at least 6 or 7 of these, then it is almost certain you are the last remaining person. In that case, you can extract pretty much safely.
