Activision releases a new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, making adjustments and applying fixes to multiplayer and Zombies, while also making a major change to Ranked Play. It’s been a big week for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 fans as the game has just recently launched Season 2 Reload as of March 12, which saw a ton of new content getting added to each of the pillars of the game, from multiplayer, to Warzone, and Zombies. Even with all of that content arriving, Treyarch has a few more changes it wanted to make.
For many players, including longtime fans from the Black Ops 4 days, Season 2 Reloaded launched a new mode that was built on a fan favorite Battle Royale experience. Black Ops Royale in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 brings back a revamped Blackout mode, where 100 players drop onto the Avalon map with no gear, pushing them to scavenge for everything. Not only that, Warzone staples like the Gulag, Loadouts, and Buy Stations are also gone, adding a new layer of challenge during the fight for survival. However, with this new update, attention has seemingly turned back to Ranked in multiplayer.
A Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Ad Has Just Been Banned
An advertisement for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 gets banned in one part of the world as viewers made several complaints about its content.
Following right on the heels of the big Season 2 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Treyarch is releasing another update for the game. The patch makes a number of in-game adjustments, including reducing the earpiece and jacket collar glow on Kagan’s “Rive” Operator Skin. In addition, players should no longer be able to escape the Cliff Town map, and the UI has been tweaked for things like the Emotes & Sprays selection wheel, unlock requirements for Operator Skins, and more.
However, for many fans, the biggest piece of this update will be with Season 2’s Ranked Play in Black Ops 7. Essentially, Treyarch announced that current Season 2 Ranks and SR will be frozen on March 25, with the Top 250 rewards being processed and a new Ranked Play experience will launch over the final week from March 25-31. Known as Ranked Series, all players will be automatically enrolled into Competitive Ladders starting with Gold through Iridescent. Each one will consist of 50 players, featuring only those who were able to finish Season 2 within specific ranks, starting at Gold. Players will race to claim unique rewards exclusive to season 2, ranging from new placement emblems, weapon camos, and more. Players can climb ranks by winning matches, which award 31 ladder points, but lose a match and 21 ladder points will be deducted.
Zombies also saw a few fixes in this update as well. The new Paradox Junction map in Black Ops 7 Zombies had a few glitches and bugs fixed, including one that ends an exploit some players used to remain inside an unopened moving truck during time travel to the past. The Double Tap Perk-a-Cola should now return 2 rounds to a player’s magazine after killing 2 enemies quickly when using non-Akimbo normal bullet weapons.

Finally, Black Ops 7‘s PvE activity known as Endgame was also featured in this patch. Specifically, a number of bugs were patched out, like the Z-Rex suddenly falling through the floor during a Glitch Fracture event. The Exotic Fabricator now works as expected with the SG-12, and the Akimbo XM325s will now load two rounds instead of just one when resupplying.
