When the original version of The Wolf Among Us first launched in October 2013, audiences were introduced to the gritty yet fantastical world of Fabletown, based on the popular DC comic book series Fables. Players took on the role of the notorious detective Bigby Wolf, inspired by the fairy tale of the Big Bad Wolf, as he investigated a series of gruesome murders in an alternate-reality 1980s New York City. The title’s choice-based gameplay and dialogue-focused progression immediately set it apart from other offerings at the time and quickly garnered a dedicated fandom of both the Telltale formula and the characters of Fabletown. Over a decade later, The Wolf Among Us has received a full remaster, and those beloved decision-making moments are now even more significant, thanks to the upcoming sequel.

The official Steam page for The Wolf Among Us Remastered contains a teaser for The Wolf Among Us 2, with Telltale noting that all players who sign into a Telltale Account while playing Remastered will have their defining choices carried forward into the second game. Early reviews for The Wolf Among Us Remastered have praised the visual enhancements to its iconic cell-shaded art style while retaining an unchanged story, and the addition of choices carrying over into the sequel could be just what audiences were hoping for to tide them over until the release of The Wolf Among Us 2 in 2027.
