Crimson Desert Player Makes Helpful Combat Discovery After 70 Hours

Crimson Desert Player Makes Helpful Combat Discovery After 70 Hours

A Crimson Desert player online has discovered that they’re able to disarm enemies during combat, making it much easier to defeat them. Although this might sound like a basic combat tip, Crimson Desert never actually introduces the mechanic, leading this player to only discover it after 70 hours of playtime. It’s pretty easy to miss, because it also requires a specific type of equipment.

Crimson Desert was released last month to huge success. Pearl Abyss’s role-playing game has already sold millions of copies, as positive word of mouth continues to spread. It’s not a game that holds players’ hands, which can lead to awesome moments of discovery as they figure things out for themselves. Players have rushed online to share their Crimson Desert tips and tricks as they find them, which will undoubtedly make the game a less daunting prospect for gamers in the future.

How to Create a Custom Character in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert only allows players to change their hair style and hair color, but this Character Creator mod will let you build your own character.

Crimson Desert Player Discovers Disarm Mechanic After 70 Hours

Redditor booka-booka_beh-beh shared that 70 hours into the game, they discovered that they’re able to disarm enemies during Crimson Desert‘s combat. While most players immediately go straight to parrying and dodging, there’s actually another option for players who are using shields. Gamers should hold L1/LB/Ctrl to block and wait for the enemy to attack. Half a second after they do, they need to press RT/R2/RMB to attack back, which will cause enemies to drop their weapons and be much easier to defeat. While this doesn’t work on Elites and bosses, it’s still a great way to defeat normal enemies without too much trouble.

The user acknowledged that many Crimson Desert players will already be aware of this tip, but the fact that the game never actually introduces the mechanic means it will undoubtedly go unnoticed by many. The caveat is that it requires the use of a shield, so those who are using two-handed weapons or dual-wielding in Crimson Desert won’t be able to do this. One user in the thread even said that it was so uncommon that they did it once by accident and thought it was a random chance to disarm their opponent.

How to Disarm Enemies in Crimson Desert

  • Equip a shield.
  • Hold L1/LB/Ctrl to block.
  • Allow an enemy to attack you.
  • After they attack, press RT/R2/RMB to hit them back. During this, continue holding the block button.
  • They should now be disarmed and easier to defeat.

Not only does this make combat easier, but it can be a great way to make money in Crimson Desert. All the dropped weapons can be picked up from the floor and sold for cash at different merchants around the game world. It all adds up over time.

The thread was filled with plenty of tips that Crimson Desert players are only discovering very deep into their playthroughs. For example, one player with 90 hours of playtime in the game has only recently discovered that they can put stuff on their horse’s back. This is the equal blessing and curse of choosing not to give players too much assistance. While these moments of discovery are great, it can also lead to players missing out on core mechanics for large chunks of the entire game.
