Crimson Desert Trick is an Easy Way to Get Into Locked Buildings

Crimson Desert Trick is an Easy Way to Get Into Locked Buildings

Players of Crimson Desert have discovered a way to easily enter locked buildings in the game. Originally intended to be a prequel to Pearl Abyss’s earlier title, Black Desert Online, it gradually evolved into a standalone single-player experience set in its own separate universe. From the moment it was released on March 19, Crimson Desert became an instant commercial success, selling over two million copies within the first 24 hours and receiving generally positive reviews from critics and players alike. In response to the overwhelming feedback received from gamers around the world, the South Korean studio recognized the high demand for the game across all platforms and committed to providing prompt post-launch support to address reported issues regarding performance and game balance.

Crimson Desert features a massive open world that surpasses the maps of both The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption 2 in size. Set in a medieval fantasy universe, the game is heavily focused on combat, featuring large-scale bosses, horseback battles, and melee sequences. However, in addition to progression tied to the combat system, players can also advance by exploring vast areas and engaging in activities such as fishing, crafting, cooking, and hunting. As the developers themselves emphasized, their intention was to create a world that would keep players engaged for hours on end, encouraging them to interact both with the characters within it and the diverse environment surrounding them while unlocking more and more possibilities as they complete each successive mission.

What to Do First in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert can be extremely overwhelming when you first start your journey. Here’s where to go and what to do first for the best start possible.

Crimson Desert Trick for Entering Locked Buildings

Although it’s been less than two days since the successful release of Crimson Desert, players have already discovered unconventional ways to explore its open world. On the game’s subreddit, a user named BelmontFR shared a trick for easily entering locked buildings. In the video they posted, a character can be seen climbing up the side of a building, then opening one of the windows and using it to get inside. In a humorous caption accompanying the video, the user points out that breaking into buildings through the windows is a method that works in the real world as well, though he does not encourage anyone to try it.

In the discussion that broke out under the post, other players not only commented on this method of entering locked buildings, but also on the general mechanics related to exploration and interaction with the environment. Some users pointed out that as long as locked doors do not have a distinctive appearance or are not part of a quest, they can easily be opened using the generic keys available in Crimson Desert, which can be obtained through combat or by purchasing them from vendors. Other gamers have also noticed that the character shown in the video is not wearing a mask that allows players to enter buildings and approach items with the “steal” prompt, which requires caution to avoid getting caught. In response, other users noted that they found it odd that they had to be cautious while stealing, yet when entering strangers’ homes, they encountered no reactions from NPCs, suggesting that the game could benefit from a system similar to the one implemented in the Kingdom Come: Deliverance series.

The huge interest in this ambitious game from Pearl Abyss from the very first hours after its release isn’t particularly surprising, given that the title had been on the gaming community’s radar since 2020, when its trailer was presented at The Game Awards. Players’ eagerness to explore everything this fantasy universe has to offer as quickly as possible has already led to a significant number of reviews, some of which highlight certain technical issues, the most common being complaints about Crimson Desert‘s complicated controls. However, the developers emphasize that some aspects of the game take some time to get used to, and if any issues arise that need to be fixed or adjusted to meet players’ needs, they will implement the necessary changes to ensure a smooth gaming experience. It remains to be seen how this title will be received in the long run and whether it will stand the test of time.
