Mythic Unique gear has always represented the most powerful, but also the rarest, items in Diablo 4. These build-defining items tend to be chase items for Diablo 4 players every season, but now a new type of Mythic item has been discovered, and it could completely redefine how builds are crafted. Players should hurry to Diablo 4‘s best Mythic farming locations to grind for the new Mythic Charms, as they appear to be the game’s new rarest item.
Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred drastically changed the game’s itemization with the addition of the Horadric Cube and the new Charms and Talisman mechanic. The ability to transmute items and re-roll affixes in the Horadric Cube makes almost any item useful, while the Charms and Talisman mechanic adds a new layer of passive ability customization to Diablo 4. Now, the Talisman is home to an even more useful feature, as players have discovered that Mythic Charms can be inserted into the Talisman to give them an additional, extremely powerful effect.
Diablo 4 Exploit Lets Players Spawn Over 2,400 Treasure Goblins
A new exploit has been found in Diablo 4 that allows players to spawn up to thousands of the rare Treasure Goblin enemy, which drops valuable loot.
Mythic Unique Charms Are Diablo 4’s New Rarest Item
Although Set Charms are the primary way the Talisman is used to define Diablo 4‘s best builds, Rare and especially Unique charms can also be useful in their own right. Affixes from Diablo 4‘s Unique items can appear on Unique Charms, giving players space for an additional affix that might not normally be available for their chosen build. With the revelation that Mythic Charms are now potential drops, the door for further build customization is opened even further.
This level of customization of Unique and Mythic affixes hasn’t really been possible since Diablo 4 Season 10, when Chaos Armor could drop with Unique affixes in different gear slots than usual.

The theoretical existence of Mythic Charms has been known since the launch of Lord of Hatred, since players noticed that the game’s loot filters contained data for them. One of the first documented instances of a Mythic Charm actually dropping was posted to the D4Barbarian subreddit by user Jcanlas88, who shared their screenshot of an Heir of Perdition Mythic Charm. The Unique affix on the Heir of Perdition is extremely powerful, increasing the damage players deal to enemies by 80%, so this is a fantastic find.
Where to Find Mythic Unique Charms
In user Jcanlas88’s post, they noted that this specific Mythic Charm was obtained as a reward for completing Diablo 4‘s War Plans. Having access to Mythic-level rewards from high-tier War Plans and aiming for Charm-based rewards options is the best way to find these rare items. Even then, they are still extremely hard to find, since reaching Mythic rewards in War Plans takes quite the investment. These Mythic Charms are so rare that most players thought they weren’t even in Diablo 4 as potential drops yet, only now starting to be found nearly a month after Lord of Hatred was released.
Why Mythic Unique Charms Are So Overpowered in Diablo 4
Part of why Mythic items are so rare in the first place is due to how powerful and potentially build-defining their affixes are. Most players will want to have at least one or two Mythics on their build, with items like the Heir of Perdition and The Grandfather being some of the best items in the game. Now that these effects can potentially be used on a build without taking up another gear slot via the Talisman, players can double up on Mythic and standard Unique effects to give their builds even more juice.
Mythic Charms can’t stack with the same Mythic in another gear slot, so players will want to diversify the Mythics used in their Talisman.

Similar to how Chaos Armor let players use combinations of Unique abilities not previously possible back in Season 10, the Talisman and Charms mechanic gives players extra space to add these Unique effects onto their existing build. With Mythic effects on the table, the ceiling for build power has been raised once again, and more build experimentation is sure to follow.
