God of War Laufey Leaks 2nd Playable Character

According to leaks that have been given extra credibility thanks to the game’s official announcement, it seems as though God of War Laufey will have a second playable character. God of War Laufey was the big reveal at the end of the latest PlayStation State of Play event, with Sony showing off over 20 minutes of the game in action. God of War Laufey features a familiar brand of brutal melee combat, but having Kratos’ wife Faye as the protagonist should ensure that it also feels like a totally new experience.

Faye is the primary protagonist of God of War Laufey. In the new game, Faye finds herself in the Everywhen, which is the afterlife for gods. Faye has to fight gods representing a variety of mythologies, but thankfully, she won’t be alone on her journey. Faye is joined on her quest by a cosmic cube and a magical ribbon, and if the leaks are accurate, she will be also be joined by a familiar face who serves as the game’s second playable character.

God of War Laufey’s 2nd Playable Character Could Be Tyr

Prior to God of War Laufey‘s official reveal at the PlayStation State of Play, a leak revealed all kinds of specific details that turned out to be true. Leaks predicted the cube companion, the fact that the game features multiple mythologies at once, and the fact that Faye is the main playable character. Those same leaks also claimed that Tyr of God of War Ragnarok fame will also be playable in God of War Laufey. Tyr is the Norse God of War who played a major role in Ragnarok‘s story, though how he’ll come to be in the Everywhen remains to be seen since he was still alive the last we saw him.

Another interesting claim in the God of War Laufey leaks is that the sword in the cube is tied to Merlin from the King Arthur legend. One could assume that the sword is actually Excalibur, and maybe Arthurian mythology will also play a key role in God of War Laufey. Needless to say, it will be very interesting to learn more about God of War Laufey and just how true these other leaks about the game turn out to be.

It’s not hard to believe that God of War Laufey will have a second playable character. God of War Ragnarok features Atreus as a playable character during certain sections of the game, and so one has to imagine there will be similar segments for Tyr in Laufey. Of course, this is just speculation at this time. It’s entirely possible that the leaks about Tyr being playable aren’t accurate even if the other leaks were, and so fans should just wait for more official information before speculating too much.
