Adrian has been writing, critiquing, and thinking about games since he first picked up an N64 controller many years ago. These days he writes reviews, news, and features for Game Rant and believes games should be held to the same artistic standards as books, movies, and television shows. When he’s not writing for Game Rant, Adrian writes even more reviews for Sirus Gaming and likes to get nerdy about tech and retro games at HackerNoon. Outside the gaming world, he spends plenty of time enjoying movies or listening to every genre of music under the sun. Follow him on Twitter for nonsense tweets likely related to Dragon Ball Z, or check out Breadhouse Records for some tunes.
Asobo Studios’ upcoming Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is right around the corner, and the good news for Xbox fans is that it will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one, August 27, 2026. The Plague Tale franchise has been an underrated hit since its first game in 2019 and has been a staple on Xbox Game Pass since then, with release-date launches for both of its sequels.

A Plague Tale: Requiem’s Sequel Can’t Make the Same Awkward Skill Tree Mistake
It is unknown if A Plague Tale: Requiem is poised to receive a sequel at all, and its skill tree will hopefully be reconsidered if there is.
At the Xbox Games Showcase for 2026, Asobo Studios revealed the release date for its upcoming Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy prequel game, now slated for release on August 27, 2026. What’s more, Xbox Game Pass owners can enjoy Resonance on day one, with Asobo continuing its partnership with Microsoft to bring Plague Tale games to the service on launch day the same way it did with A Plague Tale: Requiem. The brand-new trailer showcases the game’s star, Sofia, returning from A Plague Tale: Requiem‘s cast, in a much more combat-heavy and action-packed take on the Plague Tale games than fans are probably used to. Additionally, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is now available for preorder on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation storefronts at a reasonable $49.99.
