March 12 is Going to Be a Super Busy Day for PS5 Gamers

Thursday, March 12 is shaping to be a particularly busy day for PlayStation 5 owners, as at least seven new games are being released that day, including some rather notable titles. Sony’s PlayStation 5 is one of the most popular video game consoles of all time, with nearly 100 million units shipped to date. A big reason why the PS5 is so popular is thanks to the fact that it is constantly getting big new game releases.

Almost every major new multiplatform video game is on PS5 the same day it is on other platforms. There are certainly exceptions to that rule, but games that don’t release for PS5 are few and far between. Sony itself also publishes its fair share of PS5 exclusive games to make the console even more appealing, with Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach launching last year and Saros and Wolverine on deck for 2026.

PS5 Has 10 Big Games Releasing in March 2026

PlayStation 5 gamers have 10 big games to look forward to in March 2026 representing a wide variety of genres.

Saros, the highly-anticipated follow-up to Returnal, is scheduled to launch for PS5 on April 30, while Wolverine has locked down a September release date. PS5 gamers will certainly want to keep those dates in mind, but they should also keep an eye on this coming Thursday, March 12. Seven brand-new games are scheduled to release that day, with 1348 Ex Voto, Bubblegum Galaxy, Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake, GreedFall 2: The Dying World, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, RoadOut, and R-Type Tactics 1 & 2 Cosmos all launching on March 12. It’s rather unusual for seven new games to all release on the same day, making March 12 a super busy day for PS5 gamers, to say the least.

Some of the new PS5 games releasing March 12 stand out compared to the other titles releasing that day. 1348 Ex Voto is one such game. A medieval action-adventure game set in Italy and starring a female knight, 1348 Ex Voto made headlines recently when it was confirmed to be a PS5 console exclusive. It will also be releasing on PC, but it will be skipping PS5 competitors Xbox Series X and the Nintendo Switch 2 entirely. 1348 Ex Voto looks like it could very well be a sleeper hit, especially for fans of historical action-adventure games.

Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake, meanwhile, is a new version of one of the most-celebrated survival-horror games of all time. Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake has players confront ghostly apparitions plaguing a Japanese village. This version of the game has been completely rebuilt from the ground-up to better meet modern standards, and if all goes according to plan, it should give PS5 owners the definitive way to revisit a genre classic.

The same day 1348 Ex Voto and Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake release for PS5, GreedFall 2: The Dying World is also making its debut. Developed by Spiders, GreedFall 2: The Dying World is a prequel to the original GreedFall, generally considered one of the more underrated action-RPGs of the last decade. GreedFall 2: The Dying World has been available on PC in early access for a couple of years now, but the version PS5 gamers get will be the full 1.0 release. Here’s hoping the time in early access has resulted in an even better game than GreedFall 2 would have been otherwise.

All the games mentioned so far are single-player experiences, but PS5 gamers looking for a new co-op game to play should definitely be sure to check out John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando on March 12. A 4-player co-op zombie shooter game with serious Left 4 Dead vibes, Toxic Commando is being made in collaboration with legendary horror movie director John Carpenter, who worked on the story and musical score. Between it, 1348 Ex Voto, Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake, GreedFall 2: The Dying World, and the other games launching that day, PS5 gamers have a nice variety of titles to look forward to, all releasing on March 12.
