New Destiny 2 Glitch Makes Farming Powerful T5 Armor Very Easy

New Destiny 2 Glitch Makes Farming Powerful T5 Armor Very Easy

Destiny 2 has a new glitch that allows players to get meta Tier 5 armor sets very easily. Following the announcement in May that the game would completely end service and development after the June 9 update, Destiny 2 has been in a strange state. There is currently no dedicated Destiny 2 team after the layoffs at Bungie, and thus the game is not even in maintenance mode. Instead, the remaining devs at Bungie are tasked with fixing general issues should they be severe enough, while disabling items, abilities, and other things should they be too complex to fix.

For example, Destiny 2 disabled an armor set and Crucible map recently for this exact reason. Considering Bungie Comms Manager dmg04’s comments before the layoffs and the final hotfix a couple of weeks ago, it seems that all items, abilities, and maps disabled moving forward will not be fixed. However, the same holds true for helpful glitches. In this case, players can use a bug to very easily farm some meta Tier 5 armor sets as quickly as in one minute or even less.

Say Hello to Destiny 2’s Easiest Meta Build

Destiny 2 has a new very powerful and very easy to play meta build that players can use to deal massive damage.

Destiny 2 Players Can Get Thunderhead and First Ascent Tier 5 Armor In Under a Minute

A player by the name of renny shared a post on Twitter to highlight a new method to get some of the new Destiny 2 armor sets in Monument of Triumph. These sets are the Neptune set, Thunderhead, and the Pale Heart set, First Ascent. Players can easily complete Master Lost Sectors solo on any planet, but particularly Lost Sectors like The Conflux on Nessus, in one minute or less. Master Lost Sectors always award T5 armor pieces, but if a player’s Engram inventory is full, for example with Bright Engrams and Exotic Engrams, these armor pieces are moved to the Postmaster as decodable Engrams. If these Engrams are opened at the Postmaster on Neptune, they will turn into Thunderhead armor pieces, and if opened in the Pale Heart, they will turn into First Ascent armor pieces. This makes farming these sets extremely easy. It’s also worth noting that Thunderhead is very popular in PVE builds.

This glitch is essentially the same as one that allowed players to farm Destiny 2‘s Tier 5 Ferropotent and Smoke Jumper armor sets, as well as the rarely used Techsec armor pieces. Yet, renny found out that this can also be done with the armor set from Neptune and the Pale Heart, too, by simply decoding Engrams obtained through Master Lost Sectors at their respective Postmasters. Since Master Lost Sectors also award Exotic Engrams quite frequently, those with an empty Engram inventory won’t need much time to fill it.

Currently, Thunderhead has one of the best armor set bonuses in Destiny 2, as its 2-piece bonus, called License to Thrill, grants players damage resistance against point-blank damage by activating grenades or the Nanotech Tracer Missiles Origin Trait found on Neomuna’s weapons. The sets have the following bonuses:

  • Thunderhead Armor Set – Neptune

    • License to Thrill 2-piece bonus: Activating your grenade or the Nanotech Tracer Missiles Origin Trait provides stacking resistance to incoming damage at point-blank range.
    • Lethal Wave 4-piece bonus: Defeating an unraveled combatant grants grenade ability energy. If you have max grenade energy, you are granted Special ammo meter progress instead.
  • First Ascent Armor Set – Pale Heart

    • Stack ’em Up 2-piece bonus: Defeating targets with unique elemental damage grants a stacking bonus to Transcendence energy gains while Transcendence is inactive.
    • Burn ’em Down 4-piece bonus: While Transcendence is active, using your grenade ability consumes all stacks of Stack ‘Em Up to grant an escalating amount of grenade energy.

Given the game’s current state, this glitch is extremely unlikely to be fixed. Still, while player numbers are quite healthy even after almost two months since the Monument of Triumph update went live, some notable figures are leaving Destiny 2 behind. The very popular YouTuber Datto is retiring from Destiny 2 later this month, and other content creators have already done so.
