Grand Theft Auto 6 footage continues to appear online via the leaker known as CYBERLEEK, with the latest clip showing Jason on an unhinged killing spree. For those curious about GTA 6’s swimming mechanics, these are also shown briefly, though players don’t see Jason go underwater at all.

The build that’s been shared via CYBERLEEK thus far is assumed to be about a year old, as though the visuals are impressive, there’s some clunkiness and a lack of polish in the HUD elements that suggest the game was still deep in development at this point. While the other drops in this Grand Theft Auto 6 leak spree have highlighted driving, the game’s map, and some road rage, the latest bit of footage shows a good deal of melee combat. For players who loved getting into fist fights in Red Dead Redemption 2, this leak should spark a lot of excitement.

Grand Theft Auto 6’s Latest Leak Features an Unhinged Jason Going for a Brief Swim

Grand Theft Auto 6’s melee combat looks to be a clear progression from Red Dead Redemption 2, with plenty of animations, realistic dodging, and so on. In the latest leaked clip, Jason is shown killing a police officer before escaping on the cop’s motorcycle. Unfortunately, the escape attempt goes wrong when Jason ends up in the water. The early build vibe is clear here, as Jason is simply teleported above the bike when it’s too far underwater to be recovered (the final version will likely have a smoother transition). Jason then swims across the river, with a smooth-yet-slow animation showcased. With plenty of underwater diving and wildlife advertised for GTA 6, this is just a small taste of the game’s swimming.

From there, the player controlling GTA 6’s Jason begins fighting an entire group of people below an underpass. The conflict is initiated with a humorous backhand from Jason, suggesting that players can provoke a fight without going straight into a heavy punch or kick. One of the homeless pedestrians pulls out a knife, which sees the Jason player do the same, with some satisfying knife combat playing out in the rest of the clip. Jason also loots Zombix from one of the dead pedestrians, a painkiller featured in the other games that serves as a way to heal. However, an in-game message warns that players will get reduced healing the more they use zombix, with its effects wearing off as Jason builds a resistance to the drug.

Based on the comments of the post, many gamers seem impressed with the melee combat and knife animations, though gamers seem to be in agreement that this is an early build. The weapon wheel in particular is pointed out as looking incredibly basic, and with HUD elements likely being something that comes together later in development, this would make sense. One interesting detail is pointed out by commenter d4x4x, who zoomed in on the mini-map to realize that functional fast food joints will seemingly be present in the game just as they were in the classic GTA game San Andreas. Naturally, players are hoping for a weight gain and weight loss system to accompany them.

With CYBERLEEK threatening to release more clips unless their demands are met, this will likely not be the last leak that players see ahead of GTA 6’s Netflix event. However, the gameplay in that Netflix event will likely be far more polished than what’s shown in these clips of Jason.
