A brand-new The Elder Scrolls Online release features underwater exploration, ship combat, and an ever-changing magical labyrinth. While fans have been eagerly waiting for The Elder Scrolls 6 news, the game is still being worked on at Bethesda, and it’s likely that no significant information will come out before the end of the year. Still, The Elder Scrolls series as a whole is a pillar of Microsoft and Xbox, and a core foundation of Bethesda.
Recently, Bethesda confirmed it will work on Fallout 5 after The Elder Scrolls 6, further expanding its other key franchise at fans’ request. The huge success of the Fallout TV show, as well as the resurgence of both Fallout 76 and Fallout 4, made it obvious already, but it’s far from an actual break from The Elder Scrolls. While not the biggest MMO out there, The Elder Scrolls Online is still alive and kicking, and its latest update adds a lot of new content in the form of Rumors, the High Seas of Tamriel event, and the Nowhere Vault, all available now to play.

The Elder Scrolls Online released Update 51, containing the Rumors system and the new Nowhere Vault, and now the High Seas of Tamriel event is also available to play with very valuable daily rewards. Players can get 300 Trade Bars daily, as well as many other rewards through the one-per-character daily quest that involves ship combat, exploring the sea floor, and fighting underwater against humanoid monsters and all-new bosses while looking for treasure. Players can also get a pirate hat complete with a wig as a cosmetic, they can earn armor parts of the Abacean motif via the new Golden Pursuits time-limited event, and easily get Trade Bars to use for all kinds of in-game rewards. This new The Elder Scrolls Online release is all part of U51, and while this is the last big release of the year aside from Season 2, 2027 seems quite exciting.

If that weren’t enough, The Elder Scrolls Online‘s High Seas of Tamriel event is the first time in the series that underwater combat can be performed fluidly, taking full advantage of all weapons and skills each character might have. Normally, The Elder Scrolls games are limited in how this can be achieved, such as simple weapon-swinging underwater. Those who wish to sneak into the Nowhere Vault need to acquire Nowhere Keys, and then they will be able to access an ever-changing, procedurally generated labyrinth alongside the new dedicated NPC, Urli. Whether players want to live the ultimate pirate or thief fantasy, Update 51 covers both with great rewards, including a special Ornaug mount.
The series is no stranger to odd new ways to improve its gameplay. For example, Skyrim‘s Ikea collaboration launched September 9 to bring the famous Kallax shelving unit to the land of the Nord, whereas a fan-made mod for Morrowind came out with massive new updates and whole new towns to explore.
Whether fans are waiting for the next official Xbox statement about The Elder Scrolls 6 or simply seek new adventures in Tamriel, The Elder Scrolls Online does offer precisely that, and then some. Fans can also keep on the lookout for the next update, which will come in a few weeks and include the new Season 2.
