Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Are Giving Players a Reason to Return on June 25

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Are Giving Players a Reason to Return on June 25

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will feature a new event on June 25 that will never return to the games, giving players a good reason to play. While Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been getting new content in the form of ranked seasons and Tera Raids for almost four entire years, Gen 9 games are not going to receive support forever.

A good example of this is how Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s last ranked update was in April 2026, and now the entirety of VGC battles and tournaments are held in Pokemon Champions, instead. In fact, Pokemon Champions has already hosted multiple online and in-person tournaments, including big ones, Regionals, and even the NAIC 2026. The World Championship is also being held in Pokemon Champions, further cementing the fact that it’s the end of an era for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet ahead of the release of Pokemon Winds and Waves in 2027.

Why You Should Replay Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in 2026

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet officially entered their fourth year since release, and there are many good reasons to replay them in 2026.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s June 25 Event is a Must-Play

On June 25, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will hold a new Tera Raid event that allows fans to get Hisuian Decidueye with the Mightiest Mark, provided they can beat the Grass/Fighting Pokemon in a 7-Star Raid. The reason this is a big deal is that it’s the last time this event for all starter Pokemon will take place in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Not only that, but it’s also worth mentioning that Hisuian starters cannot be obtained in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet outside this event, or by transferring them from Pokemon Legends: Arceus. So, for those who haven’t played Pokemon Legends: Arceus or those who would like to have the rare Mightiest Mark on Hisuian Decidueye, the June 25 event is unmissable.

The event will last for a week, until Thursday, July 2. These events typically start at 4 pm PT/7 pm ET, and they end at 3:59 pm PT/6:59 pm ET on the following Thursday. This event is part of a larger schedule that started on January 8 of this year, featuring one starter per week for a total of 30 weeks. After the Hisuian Decidueye Raid, fans will be able to battle Hisuian Typhlosion and then Hisuian Samurott. These events have been available before, but since this is the last time they will go live, collectors and Pokemon Champions players who want to transfer these pocket monsters to the game will have one last chance starting on June 25 for Hisuian Decidueye, July 2 for Hisuian Typhlosion, and July 9 for Hisuian Samurott.

Hisuian Decidueye the Unrivaled is a Grass Tera version of the Pokemon, with six perfect IVs, and it’s found in the Black Crystal Tera Raids scattered across Paldea on a daily rotation. Defeating Hisuian Decidueye can reward players with several good items, including Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s Herba Mystica. Unlocking 6-Star Tera Raids is mandatory to unlock 7-Star Raids, and it requires players to complete the Academy Tournament in the postgame and then do around 10 4-Star or 5-Star Raids, until they get a call from Jacq.

Some of the best counters for Hisuian Decidueye include Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s Ceruledge and Skeledirge, as they can deal supereffective damage to it and heal themselves and/or raise their Attack and Special Attack, respectively. On top of that, Skeledirge’s hidden ability is Unaware, which means it will ignore Hisuian Decidueye’s Attack increases, which the Pokemon automatically starts on the second turn with Bulk Up. It’s also worth noting that, while the event is available for all players, those who have already caught the Mightiest Mark Hisuian Decidueye once will not be able to catch it again, but battling it over and over is allowed.
