PlayStation 5 gamers can mark their calendars for the seven big games coming to the console in May 2026. Four months into 2026, and there have already been multiple big-time PS5 games that are must-haves for owners of Sony’s latest console. And there’s even more for PS5 gamers to look forward to in the very near future.

Before I get into the new PS5 games coming out in May 2026, it’s worth pointing out that there’s one huge PS5 exclusive game dropping before the month is out. Housemarque’s action-packed third-person shooter/roguelike game Saros is coming on April 30, and even though it’s still days away from release at the time of this writing, we already know it’s a banger. Saros reviews have been glowing, solidifying the game as one of the highest-rated new releases of 2026 to date.

PS5 gamers can look forward to playing Saros before April is out, and they can also mark their calendars for the big new games set to drop in May. Mixtape will hit the scene on May 7, and looks like something that should appeal to fans of games like Life is Strange. Then on May 12, there’s a double-header of Call of the Elder Gods, a puzzle/adventure game and the sequel to the relatively well-received Call of the Sea, and Directive 8020, a sci-fi horror game that effectively serves as the next installment in the long-running Dark Pictures series of horror anthology games.

A week later on May 19, PS5 gamers can look forward to a native release of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition. Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is a remastered take on the classic God of War meets Zelda action-adventure game, and should make for a fun revisit on PS5. Then, on May 22, PS5 gamers can check out the return of Bubsy, with the controversial platforming mascot set to star in Bubsy 4D.

While there are notable new PS5 game releases coming throughout May 2026, one could argue that the heaviest hitters are set to drop at the end of the month. First there is LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on May 22, which marks the first major LEGO game in years and the first LEGO Batman game since 2018. Second there is 007 First Light on May 27, with Hitman developer IO Interactive sharing its take on James Bond. There have been some legendary James Bond games released in the past, so it will be exciting to see if 007 First Light can live up to the high bar set by its predecessors.

As far as future PlayStation games go, we know that Insomniac’s Wolverine game is launching on September 15, and that Naughty Dog has a brand-new game in the works in the form of its sci-fi action-adventure game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, though that will likely come in 2027. Rumor has it that a new PlayStation State of Play event could be happening at some point in the relatively near future, though, so PS5 gamers should soon have a much clearer idea of what 2026 will mean for PS5 overall.
