The horror game developed by Sine Coda was originally released in 2024 and has earned a “Very Positive” overall rating from Steam users. In Paragnosia, players attempt to rid their apartment of paranormal entities. From the safety of their surveillance room, players manipulate a rail camera to discover paranormal happenings and exorcise them. The camera gimmick calls to mind Five Nights at Freddy’s, while the general tone and aesthetic is more akin to something like Phasmophobia. In any case, it looks like it should greatly appeal to horror game fans, especially if they consider themselves fans of those games. If you happen to miss the free giveaway window but are still interested in playing the game, Paragnosia typically retails for $3.99, so you can buy it without breaking the bank.

The ultimate goal of Paragnosia is to survive the entire night. After each round, the number of anomalies players have missed are counted, and locks on the surveillance room door are removed accordingly. If players lose all six of their locks, it’s game over. It’s an interesting concept that should bring a great deal of tension to the experience, and horror game fans should check it out for themselves and see if it lives up to any of the horror games that seem to have inspired it.
Horror game fans that enjoy their time with Paragnosia should note that a sequel for the game is actually in the works. Paragnosia: Museum is in active development and once again has players using a rail camera to spot paranormal activity.
