Per backend information, it seems three freebies are currently planned to be released via Steam‘s Free-to-Keep Promotion in October 2026. Sometimes these giveaways are not widely known until the moment they drop on Steam; other times, the information is available via the popular tracking site Steamdb. Not every Free-to-Keep Promotion pops up there, but pretty much everything that crops up in its upcoming selection has always made the cut.
For example, currently absent from Steamdb’s database is the upcoming Steam Free-to-Keep Promotion for Dokimon Quest. The developer has announced it will be released via the Promotion on August 24, and it is a creature-collecting RPG that has GBC-like graphics, 140 unique Dokimon, and 74% Mostly Positive reviews on the platform. Beyond that, nothing else is confirmed for Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion in August or September, as of this writing, but that doesn’t rule out surprise drops or Steam’s Free Weekend Promotion.
Among other unannounced additions (in all likelihood), Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotions for October 2026 include MXGP 26 – Scrubdesignz Liveries, Gear.Club Unlimited 3 Signature Pack, and Hunting Simulator 3 Classic American Hunter Pack, per Steamdb. Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion thrives on games, but sometimes it includes smaller DLC or cosmetic releases, too. Each of these falls into the latter. MXGP 3‘s October 1 release date highly suggests that Scrubdesignz Liveries will be a free set of Steam cosmetics for fans who pick it up on day one (with a few days to claim).

The same is true of Gear. Club Unlimited 3 and Hunting Simulator 3, as each cosmetic pack is going to be given away alongside the new game on Steam. The confidence in this package is apparent, meaning none of these games are expected to be delayed. Steam users will be able to get the Gear. Club signature pack for free alongside Gear.Club Unlimited 3 when it releases on October 8, as well as the Classic American Hunter Pack for Hunting Simulator 3 on October 29.

Perhaps October will be a busy month for the Steam Free-to-Keep Promotion, especially if little freebies are already being confirmed, but that’s uncertain right now. For now, though, fans can play 2 games completely free of charge thanks to Steam’s Free Weekend Promotion, which makes Front Mission 3: Remake and Over the Top: WWI free to play until August 24. Afterwards, each game features a discount if anyone enjoys them.
Front Mission 3: Remake is an expansive tactical RPG, while Over the Top: WWI is a 200-player multiplayer game focused on the titular World War. At the cost of free, they are definitely worth checking out, and fans should keep their ears to the ground for more upcoming free game/game add-on promotions on Steam and beyond.
