Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion Still Has At Least 3 Upcoming 100% Free Games for June

Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion has kicked off June 2026 with a bang, making more than a handful of games free for a limited time since the turn of the month. This includes, but is not limited to, the multiplayer racing game Drift86, the physical puzzle platformer Winexy, the narrative game Tell Me Why, the classic Mega Man-like game Gravity Circuit, and more. Of course, given how the promotion works, more Steam FTK games are certainly on the horizon.

Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion is difficult to track, but not impossible, with a list of upcoming games already confirmed for the remainder of the month. Thanks to Steamdb’s backend information, users can reliably know a handful of games that are going to be added—even if they can’t be 100%. For example, Overcome Your Fears – Caretaker is still listed for a Free-to-Keep Promotion this month. The problem is A.) it seemed like a re-run at first, but B.) there is some kind of issue where it went live again, but under the same restraints (read May timing) as last month, so it can’t actually be claimed. However, every game that does join Steam’s FTK Promotion comes through this page/list first, so it’s important to understand.

Steam Users Have a Chance to Get LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight for Just $1

Steam users looking for an extremely good and cheap game have a chance to get LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight for Just $1 on a limited deal.

Steam’s 3 Upcoming Free-to-Keep Games for June 2026

  • Remothered: Tormented Fathers
  • The Red Lantern
  • Wild Terra 2: New Lands

Disregarding the borked Overcome Your Fears – Caretaker June giveaway, which is still listed as upcoming, Steam users can expect to get Remothered: Tormented Fathers, The Red Lantern, and Wild Terra 2: New Lands in the next few weeks. June has a lot of runway, so I would also expect more Steam Free Weekends (which are not always confirmed ahead of time) and more games added to this list by the end of it. To be clear, none of these games are available as of this writing, but they will go live on Steam as Free-to-Keep games sometime this month.

    Remothered: Tormented Fathers (Steam Page)

Remothered: Tormented Fathers sees players step into the shoes of Rosemary Reed as she investigates the disappearance of a young girl in a Resident Evil-like mansion. That’s a fitting comparison, especially given its survival horror gameplay focused on stealth, exploration, and puzzles, not to mention there are stalker enemies like Mr. X. There are psychological elements as well, tied to the cat-and-mouse approach, the mystery of the story, and the suspense-woven web of secrets and obsessions.

    The Red Lantern (Steam Page)

The Red Lantern bills itself as a narrative game on Steam, but the big difference between something like it and Tell Me Why, just as an example, is the survival gameplay loop that is tied in. Players must make key survival choices and manage resources to survive, with that gameplay loop supporting a unique narrative: namely, a woman and her sled dogs become stranded in the Alaskan wilderness and must find their way home via procedural events, relationship building with the dogs, and so forth.

Wild Terra 2: New Lands (Steam Page)

Wild Terra 2 is an open-world RPG focused on survival, crafting, building, exploration, and combat, all supporting its persistent online world with no player limits per server. Instead of classes, it adopts the Runescape method and lets players specialize in various MMORPG skills from Blacksmithing, Farming, and/or Trading to Dungeon Running, PvP, and so forth. Perhaps the simplest way to describe Wild Terra 2 is as an MMORPG that’s essentially Runescape meets Valheim.

What’s Free to Keep on Steam Right Now?

Aside from the 3 upcoming games, it’s worth mentioning that Steam users have two Free-to-Keep games to claim right now, as well as a Free Weekend title. Steam’s Free Weekend promotion works a little differently from Free-to-Keep games. Free-to-Keep games are made for free until a specific expiration date, and as long as they are claimed before then, they can be kept in digital libraries forever. Free Weekend games are only free to play until a specific expiration date, at which time users will need to purchase the game if they wish to keep playing (oftentimes at a discount).

With the recent release of Season 2, Bungie’s extraction shooter Marathon is a Free Weekend game that has been available longer than a weekend, where players can check out its new seasonal content for free. It’ll go back to a paid, premium game after June 11, 10 am PT/1 pm ET. Meanwhile, both Gravity Circuit and Tell Me Why are Free-to-Keep, so users simply need to claim them before their respective expiration dates/times on June 14 and July 1.

Gravity Circuit is a homage to classic Mega Man games, complete with the action platforming you’d expect, and abilities are very similar, too. It’s probably one of the best games to pass through the promotion in recent weeks. What’s more, a sequel was recently announced (which obviously helped catalyze this promotion). Finally, Tell Me Why finds itself on the promotion in celebration of Pride Month, where players can take on the role of two twins who explore their memories in a narrative-focused, episodic structure. Fans have longer than usual to claim Gravity Circuit and Tell Me Why, but that doesn’t mean they should let the games pass them up.
