Tears of the Kingdom Player Builds Locomotive Inspired By Spirit Tracks

One gamer has created an impressive locomotive in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, taking inspiration from another popular series installment, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. While Tears of the Kingdom has been out for nearly three years, players continue to showcase impressive creations, such as this latest train build.

This ongoing creativity is thanks to the game’s building mechanics. Nintendo introduced the Ultrahand ability in Tears of the Kingdom, allowing players to fuse objects together to make all sorts of contraptions. Besides looking cool, these builds can serve various purposes throughout a playthrough, including for combat and transportation. In addition, players sometimes draw on inspiration from other games when building these machines.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Players Build Flying Dutchman Pirate Ship That Can Actually Fly

A couple of players build The Flying Dutchman in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, designing the pirate ship to fly through Hyrule.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player’s Spirit Train Build

One of these latest builds even took inspiration from another Zelda game. Specifically, a Reddit user known as sumoguri2323 shared their Spirit Train from Spirit Tracks. Utilizing the various Zonai Devices and objects from Tears of the Kingdom, they managed to faithfully recreate the iconic locomotive from the 2009 Nintendo DS game. The build included a smoke stack, a cab for Link to operate the machine, and even a couple of carts to pull behind. Putting a finishing touch on the project, the player included music from the game as the train moved across Tears of the Kingdom’s open world via a railway.

Unsurprisingly, many gamers on Reddit enjoyed the Spirit Train design, with the post gaining over 1.1K upvotes on the Hyrule Engineering subreddit. Besides complimenting sumoguri2323 on the build, many users commented that it brought back fond memories of their time playing Spirit Tracks. Fortunately, the QR code for the build was shared in the comments section, giving other players the opportunity to ride their own Spirit Train thanks to the Autobuild feature in Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom Players Continue to Build Eye-Catching Machines

It is impressive to see players continue to share unique creations from the game years after its initial launch. Despite being a single-player title, the Tears of the Kingdom’s community has kept the game relevant by using its building mechanics. In fact, many other notable creations have been posted on places like Reddit over the past few months, showing off what is possible in the game. For example, another user made an impressive UFO in Tears of the Kingdom, allowing them to fly high above Hyrule.

While Tears of the Kingdom players continue to come up with impressive machines, other fans are waiting for news on the next Zelda game. Nintendo released enhanced versions of both Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild with the launch of the Switch 2, but there has yet to be word on a new game in the series. However, leaks have been released teasing future plans, including a potential remake of Ocarina of Time. Nevertheless, fans will have to wait for official news from Nintendo to know for sure what is planned for the rest of this year and beyond.
