Compared to its predecessor’s selection, the June game lineup leaves something to be desired due to a lack of tentpole titles; however, a deeper look at the upcoming releases reveals a schedule that promises to deliver great or novel games consistently. Yeah, there might not be a 007 First Light or a Forza Horizon 6, but the indie scene and AA developers seem primed and ready to pick up the slack in a big way. PS5, Xbox, Switch 2, and PC players have a busy few weeks ahead of them.
STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions, UFC 6, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round, SpaceCraft, Shift At Midnight, Fatekeeper, Denshattack!, BrokenLore: FOLLOW, Killer Bean, and Witchspire could very well prove to be excellent, and they arguably don’t rank among June 2026’s most anticipated games. June’s Cozy Survival Game With Co-OP And Base-Building
With over 70,000 followers on Steam, Solarpunk certainly succeeded in capitalizing on its Kickstarter, setting the stage for what should be a pretty massive debut. Although not Cyberwave’s first project, Solarpunk represents a substantial jump up in scope from the developer’s previous efforts, along with a shift away from puzzle platforming to first-person survival. Nowadays, a new open-world survival game seems to launch every other week, but this June 2026 release stands out for a couple of reasons.
Solarpunk is a cozy survival game in a technically advanced world of floating islands. Alone or together with your friends, you can construct buildings, grow food, craft gadgets, and explore distant islands with your own airship.
Firstly, a playable demo has been available since February 2025, demonstrating confidence in the project’s quality. Secondly, Solarpunk seems to be a focused entry in the genre that doesn’t try to be everything all at once. Crafting and base-building take center stage, with the game promising the tools and freedom to create your dream home base. With no combat at all, Solarpunk is all about building and connecting with other survivors who live on their own floating islands, which you can visit with an airship. Finally, Solarpunk launches Day One on Game Pass, instantly making it available to a wide audience.

Gothic 1 Remake
The Biggest June 2026 Game
Truthfully, Gothic 1 Remake should be higher since it is, by far, the most wishlisted June game coming to Steam. If executed well, Alkimia Interactive’s project will be among the best RPGs of 2026, especially considering how well the 2001 original’s strengths have aged. A polished, cleaner version of Gothic with more satisfying combat sounds incredible, and the demo nails its ancestor’s atmosphere. However, with only a sliver of the game revealed, some trepidation exists about whether the remake can fully live up to the classic’s legacy and reputation.
Whether you’re a seasoned Gothic veteran or this is your first time being thrown into the colony, you’re in for a true RPG experience with unrestricted exploration like no other.
For the uninitiated, Gothic takes place in a mining community that effectively acts as a prison, and the player starts as a nobody at the bottom of the food chain. An in-depth faction system and realistic NPC routines defined Piranha Bytes’s original title, two things the remake must absolutely nail to remotely justify its existence. I’m excited but cautiously so.

Fox McCloud Makes His Switch 2 Debut With A Familiar Adventure
Yeah, it’s Star Fox time once again… and, once again, Nintendo retells the same story. Frustrating as the decision to redo Star Fox 64 again is, the franchise’s return deserves to be celebrated, and the upcoming version should utilize the standard control scheme rather than whatever Star Fox Zero delivered. The switch to more realistic visuals takes some getting used to, and that might be a sticking point for some folks who unequivocally prefer the characters’ traditional designs; still, we need to see how everything looks in action to really know whether this art direction leads anywhere positive.
Step into the cockpit and fly across the stars and skies with Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team! With the Lylat system under attack by evil scientist Andross, it’s up to you and the squad to fend off his forces.
Otherwise, Star Fox just looks like, well, more Star Fox. As seen in some previous entries, experimentation for experimentation’s sake can result in a game built around a polarizing gimmick that overshadows everything else. Star Fox doesn’t need to be reinvented, but it needs to be shown love, care, and attention from Nintendo. Hopefully, this version got that.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales
Square Enix’s Latest RPG
A new Square Enix game is inherently exciting, and that goes double when Claytechworks acts as the co-developer. The latter worked on Bravely Default 2, which ended up being a fantastic turn-based RPG; meanwhile, Square Enix’s success rate with HD-2D games sits at basically 100%. Unlike Octopath Traveler or the Dragon Quest remakes, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is an action RPG rather than turn-based, a refreshing switch that could hearken back to SNES greats like Secret of Mana, Terranigma, and Illusion of Gaia; real-time combat should work well with this art style.
A brand-new action RPG from the creators of OCTOPATH TRAVELER and BRAVELY DEFAULT – The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales combines stunning HD-2D visuals and exciting action-adventure gameplay for the first time!
Rather than manage a party of heroes, The Adventures of Elliot revolves around a solitary protagonist, Elliot, and his fairy sidekick, Faie. Although mainly positioned as a single-player experience, the game supports co-op through a system that lets a friend (or younger sibling) take charge of Faie. While you might not be able to switch between a group of characters, Elliot can utilize seven types of weapons and fairy magic, with two of the former being equipped at a time.
Even if they don’t feel as special as in 2018 when Octopath Traveler launched, HD-2D RPGs are just reliable, delivering a mix of solid gameplay, beautiful visuals, and (usually) good stories. Even though I ranked it second, The Adventures of Elliot is personally my most anticipated game of June.

Hell Let Loose made its full debut almost 5 years ago, and its Steam numbers still routinely reach 8K simultaneous players. Simply put, Expression Games created something special with its realistic 50v50 battleground sim. While the original takes place during World War 2, the next entry switches things to the Vietnam War, a conflict defined by jungle warfare and a clash between two very different types of armies.
Enter the explosive conflict of the Vietnam War and fight your way through some of the fiercest clashes in modern history.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam should launch with 6 maps and 17 specialized roles, letting players decide whether to join the infantry, mortar squad, or other units. Battles won’t be decided solely on the ground either, as aerial strikes and patrol boats also have their part to play. Assuming it hits the ground running, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam could very well establish itself as not only the biggest must-play game of June, but also one of the defining releases of 2026.
