Watch Nintendo’s Big Summer Direct Right Here

Nintendo is capping off the summer showcase season with a 50-minute Nintendo Direct today, in which we’re finally going to get a good look at what Nintendo’s second-half of 2026 looks like, and probably into 2027 as well.

There are a few things we’re definitely expecting to see: we’ll almost certainly get release dates for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave and FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods, and we’ll probably see at least short trailers for several games coming soon that we already have dates for, including Rhythm Heaven Groove, Splatoon Raiders, and Star Fox.

Some other predictions that are floating around include Pokopia DLC (yes please), a Deltarune Chapter 5 release date (okay, this one’s also just for me), or (this would be a big one) a new 3D Mario announcement. There will likely be a number of other third-party studios showing up too — for instance, The Adventures of Elliot is out shortly and we might see a bit more of that game, and we’ll almost certainly get a trailer for the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster that was announced already this morning.

We also haven’t heard anything from Wario in a few years. I wonder what he’s doing lately?

But the biggest thing that everyone is hoping for is a new Zelda: specifically, the long-rumored Ocarina of Time remake. Hints from credible leakers that this is coming have been tossed around for months now, and a lot of folks seem very, very confident that today is the day.

Whatever comes out of this, it will set a clear tone for the Nintendo Switch 2 as it heads into its second year on the market and an upcoming price increase. While Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart World, and Pokopia have given plenty of people reason to make the jump to the new console, others still need convincing if Nintendo is going to maintain momentum into the coming years of highly expensive hardware.

You can watch the full Nintendo Direct beginning at 7am PT/10am ET right here:

Quick, tell me in the comments what you’re hoping to see here. You have to let me know now because if we get Deltarune Chapter 5 you’re not going to see me again for a week.
