Fallout 76 Season 26 was recently datamined, and the new items revealed to be coming in the update may disappoint fans. Fallout 76 Season 26 won’t be launching until September 2026, but players can already get a glimpse of what’s in store for the game thanks to this PTS datamine. The new items and cosmetics coming in the Beware the Blood Moon season look to be re-skins of existing items by and large, which could turn some players off the season altogether.
Currently, Fallout 76 is in the midst of its Appalachia Under Siege season, which followed the release of the Infestations update. While Infestations encourage Fallout 76 players to cooperate to take down these difficult events, some fans have lamented the difficulty solo players have when attempting an Infestation. Piled onto these complaints is the lack of new, unique cosmetics this season, which doesn’t seem to be changing with Season 26 either.
Fallout 76 Adding ‘CAMPanions’ As Roaming Pets
Fallout 76 introduces a new type of roaming pet creature with the CAMPanion system, featuring friendly creatures that follow players around.
Fallout 76 Season 26 Features More Re-Skins
According to a datamine of the Fallout 76 PTS done by Nuka Knights, the Beware the Blood Moon season that follows the ongoing Appalachia Under Siege season in Fallout 76‘s roadmap seems to be doubling down on re-skinned items and cosmetics. The season focuses on horror-themed cosmetics to coincide with the spooky Fall atmosphere. However, some of these skins are very familiar to Fallout 76 players who have been playing the game for some time.

One example players point to is the new Bloody Nurse Outfit, which appears to simply be a re-skin of Fallout 76‘s existing Nurse Outfit that only adds blood splatters to the item. Following this trend, the Vault of Terror Stairs, Vault of Terror Catwalk, and Vault of Terror Floor all look to be re-skins of the standard Vault Stairs, Catwalk, and Floor items with blood added to them as well. While these items might be good for building a horror-themed Fallout Vault at the player’s C.A.M.P. site, they’re not the most exciting additions to the game after re-skins of the current season.

In addition to these blood-covered re-skins of existing Fallout 76 items, Season 26 is also adding a bunch of new items focused around Fallout 76‘s cryptids and cultists. The Taxidermy Snallygaster item joins the existing Mounted Snallygaster item, this time featuring the creature’s full body rather than just the head. The new season also features a variety of wall art for the Tales from the West Virginia Hills in-game magazine series, which includes creepy posters of Fallout 76‘s Wendigo and other cryptids.
Fallout 76 has already received disappointing news regarding the future of Expeditions, which seem to be on hold as Bethesda doesn’t have any plans to add more to the game. While more expansions to Fallout 76‘s core Appalachia map are planned, Expeditions that take players outside of Appalachia seem to be finished for the time being. Couple this news with the large number of re-skins coming in Season 26, and players would be forgiven for taking a break from the game for the time being.
