Xbox Game Pass is losing four titles later today, February 28, bringing the total number of this month’s removals to five. Departures aside, February 2026 has still been a notable net positive for the service, with both the Ultimate and Premium tiers of Xbox Game Pass receiving many more titles than they lost—especially compared to the same period in 2025.
Microsoft most recently removed titles from the Xbox Game Pass catalog on February 15. However, that wave of departures was unusually small, with only Madden NFL 24 leaving on that date. Four more titles are now set to leave the service on February 28.
Xbox Game Pass Adds 2024 Game with ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ Reviews

Injustice 2, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, and More Leaving Xbox Game Pass Today
The February 28 Xbox Game Pass departures consist of Middle-earth: Shadow of War, Monster Train, Injustice 2, and Expeditions: A MudRunner Game. Of the four, Injustice 2 is the highest-rated one, based on its OpenCritic average score of 87. Crowdsourced data from HowLongToBeat indicates that Expeditions: A MudRunner Game offers the most overall content, potentially taking north of 100 hours to beat. However, that’s only if counting its extensive DLC offerings that are not part of the Xbox Game Pass version and instead need to be purchased separately. While the removal of Monster Train narrows the service’s selection of deck-building roguelites, its 2025 sequel remains available on Xbox Game Pass.

Forthcoming departures aside, February 2026 has resulted in a major net gain for the Xbox Game Pass content catalog. The service added 20 titles over the course of the month, resulting in a net increase of 15 games for Ultimate-tier subscribers. Seven of those titles were also added to the Premium tier of Xbox Game Pass, which additionally received Avowed and Towerborne, both of which were already available on Ultimate.
