Pokopia Dojo Excavation Project Turns Into Incredible Remodeling Job

A dedicated Pokemon Pokopia player attempting to excavate the Dojo in the Sparkling Skylands ended up remodeling the entire area. The stunning Pokopia Dojo features fully rebuilt Japanese-style architecture, a spacious courtyard, and multiple Fighting-type Pokemon living inside.

The new sandbox spin-off game of the beloved monster-catching franchise features some of Pokemon‘s most iconic locations with a big twist. Each of the villages within the game is modeled after a city from the Kanto region, including the Withered Wasteland as a future version of Fuchsia City and Rocky Ridges as Pewter City. Pokopia‘s villages even include multiple recognizable structures from Pokemon Red and Blue lying in disrepair, with players able to find Pewter City’s Museum and Vermilion City’s S.S. Anne. Now, one fan has not only excavated the Dojo in Sparkling Skylands but also fully renovated the Fighting-type Gym.

Pokopia Fan Shares Stunning Dojo Build

Reddit user g20richasan shared their incredible Dojo on the Pokopia subreddit with a short video. The post reveals that the player had simply intended to excavate the Dojo in the beginning, but ended up fully rebuilding it. The impressive creation featured a cozy courtyard with a zen sand garden and multiple side buildings, including habitats for Hitmonchan and Hitmontop. The main building of the Dojo included a sparring ring on the left side of the room, with a training setup boasting punching bags, boulders, and the Punching Game Toy on the other side. The Pokopia player even replicated the original hanging scrolls featured in Saffron City’s Fighting Dojo, placing them in the center of the main building.

The creator shared plenty more details about the building process for the Pokopia Dojo in the post’s comments. The Pokopia Dojo took roughly one week to complete in-game, with the original poster stating that the most strenuous part was removing the cliff blocks above the Dojo. A screenshot in the comments also gives fans a closer look at how the Dojo connects to the rest of the Sparkling Skylands, keeping the elevator in the same place and adding a small walkway. Many fans also noted that the Dojo build is modeled after one featured in a video by YouTuber HorribleGaming.

Pokopia has lent itself to plenty of stunning recreations of some of the Pokemon franchise’s most iconic locations. Pokopia players have crafted everything from Pokemon Gold and Silver‘s Bell Tower to Ash Ketchum’s house within the game, alongside plenty more. Some fans have even gone a step further with large-scale building projects, including one fan using the Palette Town village to construct an entire recreation of the Kanto region from Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen.

Pokopia has given fans lots to do in the game since its launch in early March, debuting multiple in-game events. The game’s release welcomed its first major event with More Spores for Hoppip, tasking players with collecting Cotton Spores to trade for exclusive cosmetics. Pokopia also confirmed a brand-new event for the third week of April, launching Bulbasaur’s Jump Rope Contest on April 19 and running through April 26. Omega Force and The Pokemon Company have given fans plenty of reason to stick with Pokopia, and it looks to maintain its early momentum.
