Diablo 4 Could Be Coming to Another Platform Soon

Diablo 4 Could Be Coming to Another Platform Soon

Diablo 4‘s upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion has been rated for Nintendo Switch in Indonesia, sparking rumors of a new platform release in the near future. While nothing is confirmed at this point, a Diablo 4 Nintendo Switch port would open the game up to an entirely new audience, and with the expansion release set for April 28, 2026, it could be the perfect time to bring fresh players into the fold.

Diablo 4‘s initial launch in 2023 came on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Despite launching on previous-generation Microsoft and Sony consoles, Blizzard’s action RPG skipped the Nintendo Switch entirely. However, the series has a history with the platform. In November 2018, Blizzard released Diablo 3: Eternal Collection on the Switch, and Diablo 2: Resurrected followed upon its 2021 launch.

Diablo 4 Fans Want One Major Class Buff in Lord of Hatred

Diablo 4 fans are desperate for one class to receive a significant buff in the Lord of Hatred expansion.

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred Rated For Nintendo Switch in Indonesia

Ahead of its April 28 launch, Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred has been rated by the Indonesia Game Rating System, the same ratings board behind the recent 007 First Light ending leak. The rating lists the expansion for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, despite no port being announced at this point in time. This offers some hope to fans who have been waiting for the action RPG to finally make its way to the Nintendo platform that there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

It should be noted that this is far from confirmation that a Diablo 4 Nintendo Switch port is on the way. It’s possible that these platforms are a placeholder for the rating, and should still be taken with a grain of salt. Notably, the rating does not list the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, both of which Lord of Hatred will be released on, nor does it mention the Nintendo Switch 2. And given Nintendo’s focus on bringing third-party titles to the newer Switch 2, it would be pretty surprising for any potential Diablo 4 handheld port to focus on the older console at this point.

There have been tons of rumors about Diablo 4 making its way to Nintendo platforms in the past. Former Diablo head Rod Fergusson said there was “an opportunity there” for the game to come to the Nintendo Switch 2 last year, indicating that Blizzard was open to the possibility. Despite this, there has been no official word on a port in a while, so gamers will just have to wait and see if anything comes to fruition.

Diablo 4 is in an extremely strong place at the moment. Recent seasons have been met with praise by players, as Blizzard seems to be nailing the seasonal mechanics time and time again, striking the right balance between fun and power creep. There’s plenty to suggest that the features coming in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred will set the game up for yet another successful period ahead. The expansion’s launch on April 28 will be the biggest content drop since 2024’s Vessel of Hatred expansion.
