Forza Horizon 6: Best Drift Cars, Ranked

Forza Horizon 6: Best Drift Cars, Ranked

Drifting can be really fun in Forza Horizon 6, especially given the new game’s vibrant setting of Japan, the country that started popularizing drift all the way back in the 1970s. With so many great spots and roads for drifting on the FH6 map, all that’s left is to choose the best cars for drifting, put in some practice, and master all the drift zones across the map.

When choosing the best car for drifting in Forza Horizon 6, a few meta exceptions aside, it’s not the base car that matters most, but rather its tune setup for drifting as well as the driver’s skills. This also means that most of the best cars for drifting are very easy to get in FH6. With that in mind, players can probably find other vehicles not listed below that will serve them exceptionally well. Be sure to experiment with cars, user tunes, and your own tweaks to get the ultimate drift setup exactly for you.

10 Fastest Cars in Forza Horizon 6, Ranked

The definitive ranking of the fastest cars available in Forza Horizon 6 and how fast they can go.

Below, I highlight the drifting cars that have worked best for me so far, mostly based on personal testing and experience on FH6’s drift zones — with some feedback from other players that I tested firsthand. These cars allowed me to complete all the drift zones in Forza Horizon 6 with ease. For these, I mostly used other FH6 players’ drift tunes found by searching the keyword ‘Drift’. These are usually among the most popular, with names like “Drift King,” “Godlike Drift,” “Drifting Monster”… well, you probably get the picture. That said, here are the best drift cars in Forza Horizon 6, ranked by their performance in scoring drift zones.

The S1 performance class seems to be optimal for drift setups, while both RWD and AWD cars (which some call powersliding) can perform really well. Also, some FH6 players suggest switching to manual shifting (clutch kick), which can make completing drift zones in RWD cars easier.

DeBerti Toyota Tacoma TRD or DeBerti Chevrolet Silverado 1500

How to Get (both cars): Autoshow for 250,000 CR, Wheelspins/Auctions

For #10, I couldn’t actually decide between the two DeBerti models: the Toyota Tacoma TRD The Performance Truck and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Drift Truck. Given their many similarities in how they perform on track as well as their identical price, it’s safe to assume either will work great for you. For these, I don’t even use any extra tunes on top, as their default configurations are more than enough for confident scoring. The DeBerti drift trucks are also great choices for off-road drift zones, which are quite plentiful in Japan in Forza Horizon 6, so keep that in mind. While nothing extraordinary, these two definitely get the job done without asking too much from the driver.

Lexus RC F

How to Get: Autoshow for 35,000 CR

Forza Horizon 6 2015 Lexus RC F Drift

While the majority of the best drift cars in FH6 are very cheap, be ready for some extra spending to tap into their full potential. Some options require investments of 50,000-150,000 CR for the best drift setups.

Given that Lexus is actually Toyota’s luxurious brother, it’s not surprising that many of the brand’s models can be very strong performers for drift zones in Forza Horizon 6. Based on my testing, the Lexus RC F might just be the best setup for squeezing out absolute top-tier potential and reliability. With some of the best user tunes available so far installed, the Lexus RC F almost mirrors the BMW M4 Coupe (below) behavior on the road, which is a compliment. While not as great as some of the most iconic drift cars or meta AWD variants, it’s hard to imagine anyone being disappointed with the Lexus RC F after some time behind its wheel.

You can easily turn some cars into whole new racing-ready monsters in FH6. Here are the best examples to try out with the Upgrade Presets.

Mazda RX-7 Type R

How to Get: Autoshow for 40,000 CR

Forza Horizon 6 1992 Mazda RX-7 Type R Drift

Universally beloved in Japan and the West, the Mazda RX-7 Type R’s handling is legendary for drifting. It combines a lightweight base and perfect chassis balance to rival even the most acclaimed drift cars ever made. In Forza Horizon 6, the Mazda RX-7 Type R won’t disappoint if you aren’t a complete newcomer to drifting techniques, especially with some really strong user tunes available for spectacular scoring and performance. It’s also worth noting other drift legends that I just couldn’t give a full-fledged spot on the list, such as the Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex (not the fastest FE edition) and the Nissan Fairlady Z, both of which are equally great picks too.

7

BMW M4 Coupe (F82)

How to Get: Autoshow for 55,000 CR

Forza Horizon 6 2014 BMW M4 Coupe Drift

Another spectacular choice for a strong drifting setup in Forza Horizon 6, the BMW M4 Coupe 2014 absolutely delivers under most conditions. It serves as a flexible and satisfying base for anything drifters might need. No matter which setup you prefer, RWD or AWD, the BMW M4 Coupe can drift exceptionally well with both configurations, so it’s really just a matter of your skill. For a purist approach and to leverage your own skill, go with RWD builds and enjoy the perks of mastering the car yourself rather than confidently powersliding through drift zones for great scores in AWD builds, which is also more than fine by me.

Nissan Silvia K’s S14

How to Get: Autoshow for 20,000 CR

Forza Horizon 6 1994 Nissan Silvia K's S14 Drift

One of the most iconic drift cars ever, the Nissan Silvia K’s S14 (1994) is still on top of its game in Forza Horizon 6. It’s perfect for drivers who appreciate real drifting culture and respect skill above all. Like with the Mazda RX-7 Type R, not much needs to be added here: just choose the Silvia model (S-Chassis) you like the most, dial in the right power balance for yourself, and go practicing in Tokyo. Note that given how scoring works in Forza Horizon 6’s drift zones, even with top driver skill, the Silvia K’s S14 and other iconic drift legends can be outperformed by the meta drift vehicles listed below.

Formula Drift #34 Toyota Supra MKIV

How to Get: Autoshow for 150,000 CR

Forza Horizon 6 1995 Formula Drift #34 Toyota Supra MKIV Drift

Most of the Formula Drift cars have been traditionally great for drifting in the Forza Horizon series, so it’s hard to go wrong with any in FH6 as well, even without additional tweaking. After testing several returning options from FH5 as well as the new inclusions, I personally found the #34 Toyota Supra MKIV to be my favorite here, and not just because I love everything Supra. This drift car performs great, with just the right balance of throttle power, steering, and controllable sliding, even better than many fans’ favorite Formula Drift #117 599 GTB Fiorano.

Ford Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback Forza Edition

How to Get: Wheelspins/Auctions

Forza Horizon 6 1968 Ford Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback Forza Edition Drift

If you want to look and feel like a true gaijin Drift King in Forza Horizon 6, the Ford Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback FE could be a strong contender. While it is one of the hardest-to-get drift cars on this list, nothing matches the feel of mastering this muscle car and sending it sideways on a mountain serpentine in autumn in Japan. For those thinking it’s too demanding for them, fear not: the Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback FE is actually one of the most forgiving cars for RWD drifting among these in FH6, and you don’t even need to install any additional tunes to enjoy it right off the bat.

3

Honda Beat

How to Get: Autoshow for 15,000 CR

Forza Horizon 6 1991 Honda Beat Drift-1

Another unexpected top-tier performer, I stumbled upon the Honda Beat discussions online and had to try its drift tunes myself. Needless to say, I was absolutely impressed with the results in FH6, although this one definitely requires some skill and time to get used to the car. Most of its meta drift setups put so much power (S2) into the Honda Beat that you should be really careful with the throttle, pushing the gas even more gently than with any other vehicle. Combined with relatively weak braking, it can be easy to fly off the track at first, but with some practice, the Honda Beat may just become one of your favorites for drifting/powersliding in FH6.

2

Ford F-150 XLT Larian Forza Edition

How to Get: Wheelspins/Auctions

Forza Horizon 6 1986 Ford F-150 XLT Larian Forza Edition Drift

Even without any additional tuning setups, the Ford F-150 XLT Larian Forza Edition is easily among the best drifting cars in Forza Horizon 6. This wild pre-tuned fully electric AWD truck is specifically made for drifting. It grants some bonuses for drivers while combining serious power with fun, responsive handling. The Ford F-150 XLT Larian FE’s secret ingredient, though, is that this car has a single clutch for everything, which helps greatly in scoring drift points. I had my doubts about it at first, but it actually was one of the first cars that let me score 3 stars on certain drift zones, and it was as easy as it was fun. Just don’t try to use it for off-roading much, though.

Most Beautiful Cars in Forza Horizon 6

Forza Horizon 6: Best Looking Cars

Let’s take a look at some of the most gorgeous vehicles available in Forza Horizon 6 so far. Highly subjective, but these FH6 cars are stunning.

1

Honda Acty

How to Get: Autoshow for 9,000 CR

Forza Horizon 6 1994 Honda Acty Drift

Anyone who thinks that any other vehicle beats the Honda Acty in drifting in Forza Horizon 6 probably has never tried sending it sideways with a proper tune. It seems that Raku Raku Delivery service was actually founded by Japan’s Drift King, choosing this small fella as the service’s go-to car. Sure, it’s AWD, but this small beast performs so unbelievably well for scoring points in drift zones that even the toughest ones can be conquered on the first try. No joke, I personally got 3 stars on some events only by driving a Honda Acty after hours of trying everything else. This makes Honda Acty the best car for drifting in Forza Horizon 6 yet. It grants total control over the road and wild angles with minimal chance of spinning out, and is an absolute must-have for anyone still struggling with drift events.
