How Long It Takes to Beat 007 First Light Compared to Other James Bond Games

James Bond is now back in the spotlight with developer IO Interactive’s upcoming game 007 First Light. This ambitious Bond prequel is promising an exciting kick-off to the summer gaming season, as it boasts a fresh take on the iconic spy. 007 First Light comes out at the end of this month on May 27, and its teased blend of Hitman-style stealth combined with the action and adventure of Uncharted is expected to be a great match.

Like a lot of games, many are wondering how much time they can expect to spend with James Bond in 007 First Light. The length of a game can be a huge selling point for gamers, and it’s shaping up to be the most robust Bond story yet. There are still a few weeks left before gamers are able to jump into 007 First Light, and this is how its runtime compares to the past Bond titles.

‘Bond Has a Special Place on Nintendo’ 007 First Light Dev Has Good News for Switch 2 Players

The CEO of IO Interactive has some good news for Nintendo Switch 2 owners ahead of 007 First Light’s release later this month.

How 007 First Light’s Story Length Compares to Other James Bond Games

Of course, these numbers aren’t going to be totally exact. How long it takes someone to beat a game is subjective, but the list below is based on the overall average. The length of every James Bond game is wildly different, and 007 First Light looks like it’s going to be well ahead of the rest of the pack in terms of what the story has to offer.

This list is based on the main story and doesn’t reflect completionist runs. There are also some older James Bond games that are not included in this list, because of lack of data.

007 First Light’s Reported Story Length Marks an Exciting New Chapter

Reports are claiming that 007 First Light‘s story length is going to be around 20 hours, which is twice as long as the longest James Bond title, Everything or Nothing. These claims come from popular YouTuber JorRaptor after he recently got to preview the game and talk with IO Interactive developers.

Obviously, this makes 007 First Light‘s story a new record for the franchise. It was already clear that 007 First Light marks a new era for James Bond, and the story length is just another example of how much further the series is expanding compared to past entries. There have been some solid James Bond games in the past, but many of them have failed to really capture the magic that the original GoldenEye did in the 90s. Even though it hasn’t aged the best, GoldenEye is still seen as the best Bond game by many.

James Bond Could Become a Gaming Star Again

Now, it’s time for a new Bond title to take the spotlight. Between 007 First Light‘s new villain, an exciting all-star cast, plenty of huge action-packed moments, and a fresh-faced Bond who happens to be a rookie, IO Interactive’s take on this iconic franchise could potentially be one of the biggest surprises of the year.

It’s been a long time since a new James Bond game came out, and 007 First Light hopefully marks the beginning of a new series for IO Interactive to dive into. Only time will tell, but it’s going to be exciting to see what the story has to offer gamers and longtime Bond fans.
