Someone Made Raccoon City in Pokopia

A dedicated fan has built an incredibly detailed recreation of Raccoon City in Pokemon Pokopia. Their Resident Evil-inspired project quickly made the rounds on social media, adding to the fast-growing list of impressive creations the Pokemon Pokopia community has produced to date.

According to early estimates, the Ditto-starring Pokemon spin-off developed by Omega Force and Game Freak is among the best-selling video games released in the first quarter of 2026, reportedly surpassing 2.2 million copies sold in just four days. Resident Evil Requiem generated comparable early momentum, with Capcom reporting 6 million copies sold in its first 17 days, with the Switch 2 accounting for approximately 5% of that total. In a new creative project paying homage to both of those recent hits, Japanese YouTuber Emoki went through the effort of building a Pokemon Pokopia recreation of Raccoon City.

Pokopia Version of Raccoon City Includes Locations from Multiple Resident Evil Games

Although Emoki’s build draws inspiration from Resident Evil Requiem‘s version of Raccoon City, it also casts a wider net, incorporating several locations from the second and third mainline entries in the hit survival horror franchise. The final product includes detailed recreations of the subway, city center, and the Raccoon City PD, along with several underground laboratories.

Various Pokemon can be seen occupying each location, effectively standing in for Resident Evil‘s zombies. Emoki’s selection of creatures appears to have been guided by several different considerations. In some cases, the creator chose urban Pokemon that series lore suggests are commonly found in city environments, including Koffing, Grimer, Muk, Trubbish, and Garbodor. Elsewhere, humanoid species such as Machoke serve as fitting zombie substitutes. The roster also features some less conventional picks, including Parasect, Snorlax, Tangela, and Ekans.

Emoki devoted particular attention to Jack’s Bar, sometimes referred to as J’s Bar, from the two Resident Evil Outbreak games. While the replica takes some creative liberties, many of those choices serve a clear purpose, transforming the venue into a T-virus-themed party space complete with music and indoor fireworks. That approach reflects the broader design philosophy behind the project: each location remains instantly recognizable as its Resident Evil counterpart while incorporating at least one playful twist that aligns with Pokemon Pokopia‘s whimsical tone.

Emoki’s nearly 19-minute video documenting the build had generated close to 120,000 views as of April 2, two days after going live. Most comments on the original YouTube upload consist of brief praise for the creator’s imagination, although some viewers also joked that the showcase only highlighted how much more creative certain players are compared to them. Even so, there is no denying that Pokemon Pokopia‘s broad appeal is at least partly rooted in the fact that it does not require that kind of inventiveness to be enjoyable. Players can still get plenty out of the game by simply following the main story and doing only the minimum building required, which is often enough to yield memorable moments involving unique Pokemon, distinctive landmarks, and charming interactions.

Although the game is less than a month old, the Pokemon Pokopia community has already produced an impressive variety of projects, ranging from cozy houses and brutalist structures to cliffside mansions, medieval homes, hotels, and underwater bridges. Other inventive creations that have recently gained attention online include a detailed Palette Town recreation, naturalistic village and castle settlements, Japanese-style city projects, clock towers, hot springs, and lighthouse islands. Some particularly ambitious designs based on existing properties include recreations of the Taj Mahal, Big Ben, Disney Castle, Kirby’s house, and My Little Pony‘s Dream Castle. With social media still awash in Pokemon Pokopia discussion as of early April 2026, many more noteworthy creations are likely to emerge online in the weeks ahead.
