A LEGO fan managed to transform the popular Pokemon Eevee set into Pinsir without the use of any extra pieces. LEGO Pokemon sets have been available for well over two months now, but not without issues. When these sets were first unveiled and made available for pre-order ahead of their February 27 release, the Kanto Badge collection that was meant to accompany the Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise set sold out almost immediately. Likewise, the big $649.99 set followed soon, leaving fans wondering if it would return on release or shortly thereafter.
Pokemon as a hobby is often plagued by scalpers, which is a common issue for the TCG portion of the franchise, to the point that a Pokemon card shop cut booster packs’ corners to disincentivize scalpers. Scalpers also purchased LEGO sets in bulk to resell them online, and the problem is likely to persist when new sets are revealed this year. Still, even with more sets on the way, the number of Pokemon represented in LEGO builds is extremely low compared to how many the series features. For now, only five critters have a dedicated set, including Eevee.
Pokemon LEGO Sets Are Already Going for Absolutely Ridiculous Prices on eBay Thanks to Scalpers
The recently announced LEGO Pokemon sets have already started popping up on eBay, with scalpers selling pre-orders of the products at insane prices.
Custom LEGO Pokemon Pinsir Build From Eevee Set
LEGO fan and skillful builder Minute_Food_2881 shared a post on Reddit showcasing yet another of their creations: a Pinsir built entirely from pieces from the Eevee set and nothing else. Minute_Food_2881 is renowned within the LEGO community on Reddit for creating seemingly impossible LEGO builds from existing kits, which they later upload to Rebrickable with instructions for replicating their creations. In this case, the Pinsir has a happy-looking expression, but retains all the characteristics that make it a fierce Pokemon.

Minute_Food_2881 recently built LEGO’s Deku Tree set from a different kit, showing yet again their skill. Speaking of, the LEGO Deku Tree is officially retiring later this year, so this fan-made build may be the next best thing for those who miss out.
Minute_Food_2881, known on Rebrickable as CreationCanvas, seemingly used the fur from LEGO’s Eevee Pokemon set to make Pinsir’s spiky pincers, as well as its claws. Eevee’s legs also seem to have been used to make Pinsir’s own legs, whereas the posable arms may be using the mechanism designed for Eevee’s ears. The white parts making up Pinsir’s eyes and teeth are not visible on the outside in the Eevee set, but they are indeed part of it, as seen on brickowl.com’s detailed breakdown of the set’s pieces.
Interestingly, CreationCanvas also built Bidoof from LEGO’s Eevee Pokemon set, showing just how versatile this set can be in the right hands. The main limit comes from Eevee’s fur color for other Pokemon creations, but even then, there are plenty of brown pocket monsters that could hypothetically be made from this LEGO set.
