Overwatch has revealed a bunch of new skins via recent surveys, with concepts ranging from Battle Sharks and Island Parties to Hell Bikers and Animal Gangsters. While there is no guarantee any of these skins will become real, there is a chance Overwatch could turn them into official cosmetics at some point in the future.
Every few months, Overwatch sends surveys to select fans that contain concept art for potential hero skins. Occasionally, these skins actually make it into the game proper, such as the Spring Fairy and Court of Roses skins in Overwatch Reign of Talon Season 2, which first appeared in the February 2025 surveys.
Overwatch’s Diablo Skins Are Cool and All, But It’s Sleeping on an Even Better Fantasy Collab
While Overwatch knocked it out of the park with its new Diablo 4 cosmetics, the fantasy genre contains an even more fitting crossover opportunity.
New Overwatch Skin Concepts From May 2026
Now, Overwatch has sent out another survey full of 39 skin concepts. Collected and shared on Reddit by Overwatch player Himedanshi999, these skins are spread across 10 amazing themes. Fans of ocean games like Subnautica 2 will especially enjoy the Battle Sharks, Abyss, and Island Party skins, while Demo-Punk, Animal Gangsters, and Hell Bikers are all perfect for players with more alternative tastes.

In total, 26 of Overwatch’s current 51 heroes appear at least once in these skins. While many of the usual suspects appear – Kiriko and Wuyang each have two, Freja has three, and Juno has four – the hero spread is actually much better than most other surveys. Indeed, Mercy, the hero with the most skins in Overwatch, surprisingly doesn’t appear in these concepts at all. Instead, uncommon characters like Brigitte, Hazard, Mauga, and Mei get the chance to shine alongside newer heroes like Emre, Mizuki, Anran, Domina, Jetpack Cat, and Vendetta.
When Could Overwatch Release These Skins?
Skin surveys for Overwatch began in December 2023, and they pop up roughly three times a year, meaning this is the ninth one. About half of the themes seen in the first five of these surveys have had one or more of their skin concepts make it into the game, including the Norse skins from Season 14, the Demon Rocker skins from Season 16, and the Pool Party skins from Season 18. However, not all the skins from a given theme make it into the game, while other heroes not shown in the concept art also sometimes get skins instead.

Regardless, survey skins usually take no less than a year to appear in Overwatch. For instance, none of the skins seen in the Overwatch surveys from January 2026, September 2025, or April 2025 have made it into the game yet. This means the earliest fans could see these latest Overwatch skin concepts would be next year, probably no earlier than Season 2 or 3 of whatever storyline awaits players in 2027. Either way, players should be sure to let Blizzard know which skins they like the most if they happen, to get the survey to increase the chances of their top picks eventually appearing in the game.
